    Liability for loaning equipment

I can tell you what the world would be like, but you'll have to sign a waiver first !! :D Seriously the liability could be quite high but like you I loan gear out quite often. Unfortunately for us, we live in a very litigious society where anyone can be sued for practically anything. That...

What do you fill your Azimuth with?

Don't know about the rest of you guys, but I do my best to fill my cylinders with empty when I'm diving. No matter RB or OC, otherwise, what's the point? :)

    Easy Penetration Dives

MSilvia makes and excellent point as does ronbo. Another area the rating system proposed overlooks so far, the discussion I have seen only rates one part of the whole equation, the diving environment. In my humble opinion, there are two more equal if not more important factors not addressed...

    Easy Penetration Dives

Mr. Tom Vyles, I was introduced to someone named "Tom", and his girlfriend by MF several months ago at a dive club meeting. Not that that makes me "know" you but I thought we were aquainted. If this was not you, I am mistaken and apologizse. Please accept my scincerest appologies. Kind...

    Easy Penetration Dives

I hate to break up the party here but what don't some of you get? DON'T GO IN AN OVERHEAD ENVIRONMENT WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING _AND_ EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! Texas Tek-Diver and tombiowami have it right. How many times do you have to be told not to put your hand in a fire? To quote TomVyles...

    Wreck Reels?

guerosd, I don't chime in much here but I'm afraid you may be getting information from folks, not too experienced in the use of dive reels. IN MY OPINION, Texas Mike probably gave you the single best statement "All Reels will jam somehow someway". In my experience that is very true. There...

    NiTek Computer Protection

DoubleB, If they sell enough Niteks, I'm sure they will. I have the guard for the original Nitek 1 and Nitek 3 and for the kind of diving I do it's a "money saver". Go to the Dive-Rite website under contacts... they're more than willing to work with anyone. Heck, they over-nighted a HID bulb...

    ScubaPro MK20/S550 vs Zeagle ZX/50D???

TexasMike asked me to chime in on this thread so here's my 2cents. Since the purchase has already been made, I'll change the topic a bit. After a quick read of the thread, I've seen several regulators mentioned. Without respect to model: Apeks Scubapro Zeagle These regs. all have...

    Dive Club Question

Scuba T, Hope you had a good trip! I'm organizing a group dive for this weekend so won't be on the board much. I think we can solve your problems much faster via phone than web so please call when you get a chance.

    Have a guestion about steel

If you get them, I'd just dive them as singles. They'll have 1/2" valves and/or tapered threads so no current valves or manifolds will fit. I'd ditch the J-valve as well. Some parts are getting hard to come by and many techs today don't know how to maintain them. I don't know of a manifold...

Need Housing Suggestions for JVC camcorder

Mike, scubabunny gave you good advice. That is an ageing camera and the Ikelite housing will hold its value and is relatively inexpensive in the housing market. As you heard on the NC trip I bought a backup camera/Ikelite housing for $600 bucks on eBay. So you may be better off to sell the...

    Split Fins and Tech Diving

Hey ID, Re: "As long as there are "technical divers" there will be regular fins. Trust me on this." What's wrong with "regular fins"? I would really like an answer on this. And what's the gripe with tech divers (if they're real)? They bring you most of your advancments in gear through...

    Atomic Reg and Tech Diving

SORRY for the delay guys.... I've been diving. RE: post from uwsince79 "TEKDIVER- I do a bit of tech-diving and I do have a question. As for DIR methods, are you in the habit or training to repair a (down stream valve)free flow reg underwater? If this is the case I have a few questions to...

    The Truth About Nitrox

Bob, Ah... finally the voice of reason! You have given more sound advice than most of the other posts in this thread. Congratulations on your 800 dives. With your advice it's obvious that you've made them unlike many on scubaboard.com who seem to spend far more time posting regurgitated...
