    Trim issue

I think I may have figured it out. In the pool, I normally wear a 2-3mm shorty, which allows me to wear no ditchable weight in the pool. The tanks are standard AL80s. I dropped my wing about an inch or so after noticing it tended to lift the upper section of my body when air was added. Dropping...

    Trim issue

I'll test out the small amount of weight on the top camband tonight while i'm waiting for the OW class I DMC for to come out and get in the pool. Propelling myself around, buoyancy and trim aren't issues, which leads me to think, as was suggested, that maybe it's the negativity of the fins...

    Trim issue

Howdy guys, I've been having a slight trim issue I can't seem to get nailed out. My feet tend to drop after a few moments when still in a horizontal position. It's infrequent, and isn't a problem when I move, even slightly. Could positioning of the tank on my wing affect this at all...

    Blue Lagoon...has anyone been lately?

The girls voices definitely seem to carry haha! We were a tad overzealous at first!

    Blue Lagoon...has anyone been lately?

I was assisting with the Rescue class out there this past weekend, and it definitely was silty. Not all our fault though! It was pretty hazy when we arrived Saturday, and we didn't go into throwing all the silt around at the two farside platforms between nude, hot and gorilla until 3pm or so...

    Thumb gets an ouchie

I've seen this video in the past. I believe he gets it crushed between the two beams moving from the wave action. Watch your fingers.

    Blue Lagoon...has anyone been lately?

A lot of it depends on what you are looking for. It's nice for several shallow dives, as the deepest is somewhere around 27-30 feet, and t hat's if you dig a hole. I was out there several weeks ago helping with a class, the temp. was hovering around 70, which I would imagine being warmer now...

Tell me about the Comal river

We would normally dive from Landa Park down to the tube chute, get out at that park, have one of our cars waiting, and drive back. Gave us a good hour of dive time if we didn't stop to play around.

    Lost Uwatec Tec 2G

Howdy guys, My Tec 2G seems to have fallen out of my bag or somehow disappeared while on the main campus of Texas A&M University in College Station. Identifying marks include a DSS boot and shock cord straps. Also, if taken out of the boot, one of the side contains scratches from the ordeal I...

    Rescue certification

When I took my Rescue course, it included the Rescue Course, all manuals, and a pocket mask for $110. It cost $130 ($20 more) if you had to become CPR/AED and EFR (children and adults) certified. Nowhere near the prices listed above.

Making a blackout mask for zero vis training

When assisting my instructor with AOW classes, we always used several overlapping layers of duct tape. Holds up surprisingly well to repeated usage.

    Rescue vs AOW

I'd have to agree with all the posters above. Personally, Rescue made me really examine my dive skills and develop the mental stamina when handling a situation. It's easy to let things overwhelm you underwater, and the skills you learn in Rescue help with that, as well as handling many other...

    PADI Rescue Diver Course

By far the most rewarding and fun, as well as stressful class I've taken yet. I feel that in addition to all the vital rescue skills you learn, the stress it puts on you as a diver helps in all aspects of diving. My instructor emphasized control under stress, not only in helping others, but in...

    Tec 2G vs. Nitek Trio

Howdy fellow SBers, I've been looking for a computer of my own recently after diving tables for awhile, and it looks like it has come down to be between the two computers listed above, the Tec 2G and the Trio. LP currently has a special lasting until tomorrow in which I can get the console...

    Dive Rite Nitek Q?

Has anyone heard any more information about the Nitek Q from Dive Rite? All i've seen was the video from DEMA 2010. Word was it was supposed to ship this month, but I cannot find a single shred of information. Looked like an interesting computer.
