    Akumal??

I spent a week in Akumal last August...also at Villas De Rosa. I don't know if the time of year makes that much of a differnce but the vis was fantastic! I saw PLENTY of wildlife...turtles, rays, baracuda, lionfish, eel... too many fish to name....not to mention the legostino's (clawless spiny...

    drysuit boots vs socks

I too have the socks and rock boots. I like the rock boots, they are like nice shoes and help keep air out.

Mid-Atlantic Bottom Feeders, Add your favorite dive spots to our directory!

Good luck with that one! A while ago I asked if anyone was interested in diving the Bay. The people that responded were generally saying they aren't interested in diving the "contaminated" water in the Bay! LOL, I grew up in the area and have no problem swimming, water skiing, etc. in the Bay...

    dry suit questions

While of course it can be done solo, why vote against a class?? I took you about 10 dives, but with a good instructor and class, it could have been even less...and more safe if you did have any issues. I took the class and am glad I did. Skarn

Is there an alternative for dry suit underwear

I use underarmour cold gear as my base layer and Polartec 300g fleece as the outerwear. Get it from Cabela's. Very inexpensive and very warm. It's what my instructor wears as well as a ton of us. Skarn

    Gloves and Hood before drysuit?

Like saxplayer said, any gloves and hood work. The non-skirted hoods are easier. I don't have dry gloves yet and use normal wetsuit gloves... Skarn

    Is This A Good Deal

Agreed! I use Polartec 300 fleece pants and top and wear UnderArmor cold gear underneath. There is no need for the expensive "specialty" drysuit under wear IMO. Check out Cabella's, they have the Polartec at very cheap prices. Good luck, Skarn

I also say Cabellas. I wear the 300 Polartech pants and fleece jacket. Underneath I wear Under Armor cold gear. I dove Sunday and the water temp was 38deg and I was fine. Skarn

First computer; Zoop, Oceanic Geo 2.0 or Veo 3.0?

Heck I have the Veo 1.0 and love it! Very easy to read, one button and does Nitrox as well. And the price was only $150 from LP. Skarn

    What computer

I got the Oceanic Veo 1.0 from Leisure Pro for only $150. It's basic but does everything I need including nitrox.

Mid-Atlantic Bottom Feeders, Add your favorite dive spots to our directory!

Hey Greg, I'm in the Annapolis area too (Pasadena). I've made dives at Bainbridge PA since it so close, never been to Dutch Springs. Have you been to both and if so, can you give reasons why you like one over the other? Skarn

    First Computer Arriving Tomorrow!

I have the Veo 1.0 and love it and don't plan on upgrading...it does everything I need including nitrox. So you'll be fine with the 3.0

Wetsuits - Where to get Best Value?

Leisure pro! They have a worry-free policy so that if you got the wrong size, no problem, ship it back without issue. But if you measure yourself correctly, as long as your measurements aren't "out of the norm", you can get a really nice stock suit for very reasonable. Good luck, Skarn
