So is this a viable battery or not? If so where can we get hold of one and what price are they? Ron, in another thread you spoke of an upgrade, do you have details of that before i throw this unit out?
Atomic no longer have a European support office and will not provide a replacement battery. They have suggested i return the unit to the USA for servicing. Im pretty sure the cost of this with return packing would be more expensive than a new computer. Seems this one is going to go in the bin...
Ron, the battery is definitely dead, it even looks like there may have been some corrosion in the body of the computer, although it will start when plugged into the mains or USB, it just wont charge. Do you know of anywhere online where i can get a replacement battery?
I have a Cobalt 1 and need to remove the battery to reset the charging circuit. Are the screws a special kind? They seem to be allen screws but i cant find an allen key the right size; everything is either just too big or just too small. Any help would be very much appreciated, also where can i...

RonR, thank you. i have been using the AC adaptor. I cant update the device yet as it isnt even holding enough charge (even after an all night charge) for me to plug in via USB, ill try the link that you sent and see how i get on
I have one of the original Atomic Cobalts, must be 9 years old now. I stopped diving for a while (over 5 years) and just started again. I got the cobalt out and, no surprises the battery is flat, it will not charge even from the mains. Any ideas?
Ron, everything worked perfectly. I had it plugged in via USB before i did the wall charger so i let it run down again overnight and re-tried the wall charger. She kicked in after about 10 minutes and all seems well. Thanks for the swift reply and the sound advice.
Ron. Thanks, i did try USB first so i will leave it unplugged overnight and try again with the wall charger. i really don't want to open her up unless i really have to so fingers crossed she will start tomorrow. And where can i get a new battery from in UK should i need to do so?
Ok, i dragged my cobalt out of storage after far too not long diving and it has no power whatsoever. I have it plugged in via the mains charger at the moment and am hoping that will do the trick. Any other suggestions, this thing has worked perfectly up to now and totally my fault for not...
I must admit that i had this happen to me, only once, but it was pressure in the hose that stopped me doing it. No problems now that i know about it.
Ron, i think it worth saying that without your additions and help in this forum we wouldnt get the quality of help that we do, thanks again for...
I might have missed something here, isnt this just a 'box' that you can put your ipod into with a dive computer app? Im just not sure even after reading the site that i know what this is.
i bought mine in November last year just before leaving Florida, not had a problem with it yet and looking forward to the future enhancements. i now would not be without it.
damn, i pretty much have mine in compass mode all the time, cant have everything i suppose. all joking aside its a great idea and a clock somewhere would very useful and much appreciated. I love my cobalt and have had no problems with it up to now. It always gets positive comments from those...
Its a very valid point, i would still like a clock personally. the temp is equally as important so alternating would be good. i for one only ever use the temperature post dive to enter into the log book for info. If its too cold down there i get out (I dive in UK so it has to be bloody cold...
A clock would be a very nice touch, i hate having to lift my wet suit cuff to check the time. Yes i know i could put my watch outside my wetsuit but i never do and im not sure the strap is long enough to do that. A clock would be very nice indeed.
I must be the lucky one, fingers crossed i havent had any problems with the machine or the update procedure. Not a fan of the desktop logbook app but i do prefer paper logbooks anyway so not too much of a problem for me. Im a happy Atomic owner but perhaps people only post when they have an...
