Nauticam RX100 slipping front ring dial replacement now available

FYI - Nauticam have released a replacement front dial ring gear for users who have problems with the ring slipping or not engaging properly. This is a known fault of the Nauticam RX100 housing due to manufacturing tolerances of either the housing or the camera itself. I got mine from the...

7200 lumen Super Light GoPro Video Lighting Set - Introductory Sale

The light output ratings seem dubious. XML LED's can't produce 1200 lumen each as claimed. And if they could you'd be driving them at well over 3.5 Amps which the battery couldn't maintain. Further, to achieve 60 minute burn time on a single 18650 battery you'd be lucky to get over 500 lumen...

    RX-100 nauticam front dial

Mine has the same problem. I found inserting a business card under the rotating front wheel almost completely fixed this problem. This pushes the floating internal ring up a bit helping it make contact with the lens. I purchased mine in Sydney, Australia, and had the issue on two housings...

    XTAR D35 Dive Light

XTAR lights are generally very well made and perform well underwater. The D06 is typically brighter than most primary recreational dive lights and is a great size. The D10 is also impressive with twice the burn time and is well balanced, but is a little long to hold on a dive. I use a rubber...

    Trustfire TR-J1 review

Hi guys, Drivers are typically anywhere from 70 to 95% efficient. It depends what is under the hood really. My guess is that there is are four 7105 constant current drivers delivering ~1400ma to the LED. 7105's with a single LiIon cell are around 90% efficenit. The modes are provided by a...

    Trustfire TR-J1 review

Do any of you have a multi-meter? Measure the tailcap current draw at each of the settings. Tailcap current less driver efficiency will give you the best approximation of light output. My guess is the T6 LED is driven at around 2A which should equate to around 600-800 Lumen. Keep in mind...

3.7v LiIon batteries can deliver 3-5 amps of current. The voltage is somewhat irrelevant. Try licking a 9V battery. The effect is similar.

    Trustfire TR-J1 review

Hi guys. First of all you should NEVER unscrew the tail cap part way while underwater. The design of the light is such that current flows through the body of the torch. IF you slightly nick the body and the tail cap current will flow between the two while in saltwater. This will cause the...

    Xtar D06 - any issues?

Yes, there are a couple of issues with XTAR's line of diving lights. First, their diving lights are NOT designed to twist on-off while underwater. Because of the design the torch body is electrically active. If you have a small ding or graze on the aluminum coating on the head and hande (very...

Get UK SL4 plus Cree U2 upgrade LED or dealextreme MJ-810E lights?

UK SL4: 1. There is no way an XM-L U2 LED can produce 1300 lumen. Period. 2. Maximum output is likely to be no more than 1000 lumen IF LED is being driven at ~3.2 Amps. 3. If driven at ~3.2 amps max brightness will last for ~20 seconds and then the LED will start to cook. 4. Any high...

Was my Transplate manufactured on a Friday afternoon?

Putting together my Transplate I noticed something strange with my epaulets. The logos are opposite to what is shown in every photo online. The DR logo is on the left shoulder and the 'Transplate' logo is on the right shoulder. This assumes that they are installed opening from the outside...

Suunto D9 and SeaLife Strobe interfere

I don't think you can reset the code underwater. I wouldn't recommend trying it. At best the transmitter would change but the watch won't re-sync while in dive mode. It will remember the last used code until you're back on the surface.

Suunto D9 and SeaLife Strobe interfere

I've used a D9 with a DC1200 elite (one strobe) and have not have a problem with transmitter reception. I've always found that changing the D9's transmitter channel seemed to help when experiencing issues in the past.
