Why are all my pics blue?

I agree with the above poster as far as why your pictures are blue, but I have to disagree with how good a red filter works. Most of the best reefs are between 15' and maybe 50' (at least in Hawaii) and there is normally enough ambient light at least to 40' to get some great results. The...

Why are all my pics blue?

The easiest solution is to get a red filter. "Magic Filter" is one brand, but you can also find a camera specific filter depending on your set up!!

Wringing out or squeezing out your wetsuit - bad idea?

The pressure on the suit from diving is probably greater than the pressure from you squeezing out the excess water from it. Also leaving all the water in the suit puts more stress on the shoulders when you hang it. I vote for the light squeeze.

    The Big Island

Actually the closest dive operator is Blue Wilderness Dive Adventures. They are right in the Queen's Marketplace. And from my experience living there, they are a lot friendlier and really a lot of fun!!

    Mask clearing problems.........

The process is the same for salt water. I will make a suggestion though. Before you try anything, open your eyes under water without a mask. If you get a little salt water in dry eyes it really seems to burn. If you "go for it" with wide open eyes it is much better on your eyes. Maybe it's like...

    Aladin 2G Screen Guard

+1 for the Zagg Shields. I us them on everything I can. I put one on my Gekko computer that had some scratches on the screen, and the adhesive from the shield filled them in and they dissapeared.

Intova IC12 question-red lens and flash diffuser

The red filter works great. I have been using it on my GoPro for videos. Keep in mind that you do not want to use it inwater less than about 25 feet, (especially in clear water and bright sunlight) or everything will appear orange. You also don't need a filter if you are using a flash. The...

    Showing the colors!!

With the clear water in Hawaii you just need to be able to remove the filter when you are above 25 feet or so and use the ambient light so show the natural colors. So far no one has come up with a flat glass lens and a flip up filter system for the GoPro.

    Showing the colors!!

I wanted to share a clip I took using my GoPro with the flat lens from Mako "and" the red filter from my Intova camera. I just held it in front of the lens to try it out. Watch the difference at the end when I take the filter away from the lens... Turtle waiting at cleaning station.MP4 - YouTube...

Okay, I have to jump in too. If you want a great little camera and a strobe that is really affordable and takes amazing pictures even on full auto, go here and look at the IC12 or the new IC14 and the ISS2000: Intova underwater cameras, waterproof MP3 players, and underwater torches I can post...

    New Dive Buddy

(Dixie is a 1999 Chevy Suburban, 2WD. It took me awhile to find the configuration that I wanted: Third seat, barn doors at the rear, rear heat and A/C and 2WD. The vast majority of Suburbans are 4WD and I don't have much need for 4WD and I wanted better gas mileage.) Just a side note: You can...

    Mask clearing problems.........

Good tips here (except fot the Purge Valve). Also, it isn't just how much you tilt your head up, as much as "when." You really only need to tilt your head back a bit "after" you have cleared almost all the water from your mask with your head level. There won't be enough water left in your mask...
