So far, the lens selection is limited. No decent wide angle zoom or fisheye. And nothing that will compare to the curreint 105mm for macro. I'd like the camera to hold two memory cards as well. Time will tell how this new Nikon fares against the competition. But Nikon certainly has made it...
Yes. The 3 second auto focus needs to be shorter. Very frustrating sometimes. You want the gun to fire when you pull the trigger! Not after the fish is swimming away!
Years diving: 35
Years tec diving: 10 (mostly deep spearfishing)
No of deco dives: 100 (I am guessing)
Scuba instructor: yes (PADI) - teach mostly specialties now
Tec instructor? No (but working on it!)
Trimix? yes
Rebreathers? Not yet
Caves? not anymore. I used to cave dive before it...
Lame story. OOOPs. no story, really. But I agree the cinematography was quite excellent.
Note to self: if someone offers you a dead persons's wetsuit, swallow your pride, and accept it as lifesaving gift.
couple of quick questions.
Has anyone recently dove on the Wilkes-Barre wreck near Key West, Florida?
What dive shop do you recommend?
thanks,
Dirk Peterson.
I knew about the pp value graph, but not about the warning of 0.5 between mixes. perhaps that's because i have not tripped it yet. What form does the warning take? Does the text change color, is their a message, warning bells and whistles?

Sounds like fun. And Randy is one great dude. But what is the point. Might as well kill roaches in a salt marsh... They are here to stay. Be careful out there.
Thanks to Kevrumbo for the reference. Now that makes perfect sense. thanks to Ross too, for reminding me how much I like Vplanner. however, it sure would be nice if Vplanner had a tool that
1. warned the diver when any proposed deep gas switches from He to N2 rich mixtures were too risky...
I read Doolette and Mitchell (2003) as well as the ad hoc info about the 1/5 rule on scubaengineer.com. All very interesting. Also, I am clear on NOT switching from nitrox to trimix on ascent (unless for some stupid reason I have no other gas to breath). I'm all over the no-trimix in the...
Inner ear DCS by way of inert gas counter diffusion is a risk in deep multi-gas diving.
However, switching from helium gas mixtures to nitrox is necessary to accelerate decompression and is the basis of decompression diving both on OC and CCR dives. What guidelines should one use when making...
