Wanted: Seaquest XR2 or Aqualung Impulse purge cover.

Hi I have a Seaquest XR2 regulator. The purge cover has dried out and is cracking. I believe the Aqualung Impulse uses a similar cover. Anyone have any NOS or suggestions?

Wanted Display Shields Suunto Eon Lux, and Suunto Solution Nitrox

Hi, yes I think they are too scratched for that type of treatment. Don't those products just temporarily fill the scratches?

Wanted Display Shields Suunto Eon Lux, and Suunto Solution Nitrox

I have 2 older Suunto Computers that still give good service but the display shields/screen protectors are badly scratched. Anyone know where I could purchase these? I see shields for newer models, but not these. Thanks... Ted

Unidentified dive gear, what is this?

Sorry Mark IV, you did solve it first. Wookie told me how to fix it. I really did have to beat the crap out of it to get it to work, and its still pretty poor. In hindsight, Im glad it wasn't the end of a bang stick!

Unidentified dive gear, what is this?

Wookie wins! Mystery solved. After repeatedly banging it on my tile floor I was able to get something inside to move. Still not sliding freely, but I think it is noise maker. Thanks everyone.

Unidentified dive gear, what is this?

I just put it in water. It's slightly buoyant. I also made a greater effort to remove the foam, I couldn't. It may be glued on.

Unidentified dive gear, what is this?

The foam is on very tightly, I dont think it is meant to be removed. , I'm afraid of ripping it if i removed it. Its very comfortable in my hand, my friend suggested a handle of some sort. The cord appears to be nylon and very rugged. Cocking a speargun?

Unidentified dive gear, what is this?

Nothing, seems to be solid. I know where you were going with that though. In Cuba I dove with a dive master who had BB's in an aluminum cigar tube. When shaken, it was great attention getter.

Unidentified dive gear, what is this?

Hi, I bought a used BCD and it came with this yellow thing. It seems to be a solid plastic somewhat phallic shaped thing covered in a foam rubber sleeve. At first I thought tank banger, but its too soft. Any ideas?

Aqua Lung computer class action lawsuit

I recently purchased a near mint Suunto Cobra as part of a large diving lot on eBay. It has a depth sensor problem, it doesn't register depth at all. Everything else works, pressure, planning etc. Researching the problem I learned that this is a widespread problem, just mention the word Cobra to...

    Waterproof Cordless Drill?

I like to fan the bottom looking for artifacts, bottles and fossils buried a few inches below the surface. I have had good luck doing this in areas that other divers consider "picked clean". Fanning by hand is tedious and tiring. I am aware that some divers use DPV's for fanning, but that...

History of diving the fossil beds?

An old friend (fellow Canadian and longtime diver) and I were discussing diving in the Venice area. I told him I had been diving for meg teeth the last two winters. He informed me that he had spent a month diving in the Venice area about 30 years ago and had not heard of diving for sharks'...

I'm watching moving ice on the St. Lawrence River and counting down the days to my 3week vacation at Manasota. 13 days! I was there for 2 weeks last March but the weather was poor, we only got in 2 dives, one at the Service Club and one at the Boneyard with Florida West. We found several good...

Hi I realize this is an old thread, but I thought I would give an update as I did not find any new information before my trip to Cuba. I just arrived home, (Feb. 5th to 13th, 2011,) from a vacation at Hotel Ancon, Trinidad, Cuba. The dive shop is located at Hotel Ancon, they go out twice a...

Parts for a KMB 10 Band Mask

Hi I'm looking for parts for a 1977 Kirby Morgan KMB10 band mask. Specifically, a hood and a purge button decal (or complete purge button). I bought one at a reasonable price and I'm hoping to turn it into a nice wall hanger. Cheers Ted
