    Sidemount operator in Saba

Sea Saba allows Sidemount diving ( why wouldnt you?). Obviously you need to bring your own kit and are only allowed to breath one tank per dive.

    Bocas Del Toro Diving

Dove Coiba two months ago and asked the guides about Bocas ( one of them born there) and they said it's absolutly trashed by now and they would not recommend diving there anymore.

    Diving Regulations - Caribbean

You can still dive from your own vessel on those two mentioned islands, but you need to hire a guide of one of the diveshops. Since I believe there is no source for all of the isalnds on that, I think it makes that you post here a list with all the islands you plan on heading to and the...

Saba - Saba Deep Dive, Saba Divers, or Sea Saba

Saba Deep is not operating since a few years. For your cattle boat concerns- Sea Saba has 40ft boats with a max of 10 divers. If you were to go with the Explorer (I know you are not, just as an info), you are very limited in divesites-only certain moorings will hold the liveaboard.

    buying gear over seas

Well, the dive gear on the caribbean islands is bought in the US and than shipped to the islands. And the shipping is not exactly cheap, so of course it is more expensive than in the US.

X'mas & New Years public holidays

I always wonder if it is really necessary to dive on New Years Day. Are people not going to stay up and head to bed at 9 pm to be fit to dive the next day?

    Saba Airport

Like others have already written, it is not dangerous. Winair has a 0 % accident rate at the Saba Airport. Therefore it should probably be rated one of the safest airports. It is just very spectecular and short.

    SABA diving (Land vs Liveaboard)

Keep in mind, when you do the liveaboard you are limited on divesites on Saba. All of the divesites have moorings and only some of them are strong enough to have the big liveaboard tied up to. While the smaller boats from the landbased dive operations can tie up to all of them. Its like 25 vs...

Where to stay to dive w/ whale sharks and dive ceynotes?

Like said, you wont be able to dive with the whalesharks in Mexico. But also snorkeling with them is a great experience. But you can do this in a one day trip and dive the rest of your stay the Cenotes. I would stay around the Playa del Carmen area for that. The whalesharks are around from May...

    St Maarten and surrounding islands?

Well I can only speak for Saba and the only thing really to do for the nondivers is to go on a guided hike or to take an island tour. But probably Saba is the best island to dive from those three options. However, I would check out aquamania-they run daytrips to different islands and offer...

    Best BCD ever!!! Thanks Zeagle...

Dear Zeagle, I want to thank you for making an amazing product. I purchased a Zeagle Brigade in 2006. Shortly afterwards, I became a full-time dive instructor in the Caribbean. Since then, I have logged 4000 dives with the same BCD. I can't believe it has lasted this long. It is very faded...

    Occidental Dive Shop

Probably would tell you to go with Deep Blue. Pro Dive can be covenient if you stay at the resort, but likely to be on crowded boats, strict schedule and restricted time.

Help me decide on a location

I believe Cozumel is probably the best bang for the buck! Would recommend the Blue Angel Resort, their beach is not that great-but small, friendly, clean and good hotel +dive op. Scuba Clubs beach is not impressive either. But you can also go for on of the AI Resorts in the south, then its...

    Thinking about Saba

The first week of January is usually still busy, there after a little less. Whale sightings are normally happening from January through march, but of course-no guarantee;-) (But last ones just seen yesterday!)

actually, weatherwise its awesome in september, but of course it is hurricane season-so it can be total opposite. christams/new years is normally very busy, many people.... how about october? sea&learn programm is happening, just google and check it out. there is no lodging directly on the dock...
