My first trip to Jupiter in exactly a year (topside photos only)

Thanks, '68. It's a cool place for a burger/wings/beer after the dives. Can everyone see the pictures, or do they just come up as links? If they are just links, can someone help me fix it so the pictures are in the report? I used the picture button on the tool bar to post them.

My first trip to Jupiter in exactly a year (topside photos only)

Wednesday, August 17, 2011 It had been nearly a year since I'd blown bubbles underwater. Living in Florida, and certified to dive, this is akin to slapping your grandma. It wasn't that I just wanted to go diving, it's that I NEEDED to go. I had some down time between jobs at work, and my...

Jacksonville's getting a new dive spot

Very cool. Here's a link to a story about it, and the Great Annual Fish Count. SPIKE

NoFL divers, want to help others help the reefs & oceans?

The class was very cool. It was basically just an intro to fish ID, showing some of the most common fish seen around here, peacock flounder, graysbys, etc. Anna also did a wonderful job explaining what Reef does, and a guy from JRRT was there to talk about their work, and the Great American...

NoFL divers, want to help others help the reefs & oceans?

Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately (on many levels) I have a memorial party (there has to be a better word than that, about 50 of us are getting together to celebrate her life instead of mourn her death) for a good friends Mom on that day. Keep an ear out to find out if I won! If you're...

NoFL divers, want to help others help the reefs & oceans?

Join REEF in learning how to ID fish, and then spend some dive time collecting info. My nephew and I are going to the July 9th class at First Coast Scuba. Divers and Snorkelers, learn to identify the fish you see on every dive. Help marine life conservation and have fun at the same...

Jacksonville's getting a new dive spot

Damn. I was hoping to go see it sink. Can't make the 11 or 12, as I have a guy on vacation then, so can't skip out.

Any info on time of sinking and location? I'd like to try and get out to see this.

Sea Dog Divers in New Smyrna

That would be good news. Please ask him about it. I'm not a big fan of either of the two options currently available. Jacksonville Scuba Center was a great place with friendly people, but they closed up well over a year ago.

Sea Dog Divers in New Smyrna

New website, must be a typo. I know for a fact the two tank wreck trip with tanks is $99.00. I love Southeast Dive Adventures on the Mayport Navy Base, but I'm going to have to find another, since they are closing in Oct. I've heard very, very good things about these guys: First Coast...

Sea Dog Divers in New Smyrna

Where did you find the $84.00 price? That has to be a reef trip without tanks. Can't imagine only a $5.00 credit for two tanks. That's $15.00 off the wreck trip. Would not mind teaming up with a couple of new dive buddies. Heck, we've just about got enough to book the whole boat.

Sea Dog Divers in New Smyrna

Cool, post up a report after you're done. Love to hear about the new boat. I also noticed you're in Jax, we'll have to hop on a boat together sometime. My wife and nephew dive also.

Sea Dog Divers in New Smyrna

If I remember correctly, it's 10 bucks less without tanks. I always bring my own too because I have big honkin 120 cf nitrox beauties. They never cared that I spent more time on the bottom, and never rushed the surface interval either. As long as you dive safe, they treat you like an adult.

    I'm Moving to Florida!!!!!!!

Yeah, but how many Burt Reynolds museums does FLL have? Jupiter 1 FLL 0 Jupiter wins. Besides that, way more pelagics in Jupiter. I love me some sharks. Better chance at catching lobster too!

Sea Dog Divers in New Smyrna

Looks like they updated their website, looks great: Sea Dogs Dive Center Also appears they have a new boat, a six pack! Good news is I love six packs, bad news is it's going to be a lot harder to dive with them. They are such a great op, they're going to be booked weeks in advance with only...

Way to go Jupiter dive center

I think a Way To Go should go out to Scubaworks as well. Two top notch operations, that's for sure.
