Well Im definately not doing the PADI advanced course because it doesnt seem to qualify you for anything. The SSI structure seems better because its AOW recognises specialities.
I don't log dives because my computer does it for me. Anyway its just that a lot of agencies say they wont take you on certain dives unless you have done the Advanced course regardless of your experience. Just seems like a way to get people to pay for another course that really isn't necessary...
Hi,
I am interested in gaining the PADI Divemaster and Master Suba Diver Rating. I have noticed that the prerequisites for both include the Advanced Open Water. However I would prefer to do 5 specilitaties and skip the Advanced.
If I do 5 specialties, Rescue Diver and complete the minimum...
Hi
I have my open water cert. I am interested in doing a nitrox course and assumed that I would have to do the advanced course first but was told that I could do the nitrox course without first doing the advanced. I was also told that the nitrox course would certify me to 30m/100ft. Is this...
I know a commercial diver/instructor who had the 700 and said it was a really good computer. He took it on over 200 dives without a problem.
I wouldnt go the Mares because it doesnt have multiple gases. Seems to get good reviews though. Probably would make a good fashion statement XD.
The 750...
Yes I wear 3mm gloves and the buttons are easy to push. I have a friend with a Vyper and the number sizes on his are slightly bigger and clearer. However both are easy to read underwater.
You can also change the duration of the light anywhere from 1 to 12 seconds or permanantly on to make...
I also bought a USB infrared dongle on EBay for $11.49 from China with free shipping. I have Windows 7 and installed the drivers in compatabilty mode. Works great.
Another good feature of the Aladin 2G is that it uses IRda (infrared) connectivity to upload your dives to your PC. You can pick up an IRda USB stick for $10 and the Scubapro dive log software is free. That's good value in my books.
I have an Aladin 2G and I like it. I got it for $250. It's not as pretty as the Geo 2.0 but is less expensive and has a better Gauge mode if you plan on doing some serious diving.
The wing doesn't have bungee so it's safe in that regards. My air usage is pretty high at the moment but I'm hoping that will change as I get more experience. I'm 5'9 and of average build.
Funny that you mention colour because he did say that they wear black and have everything exactly the...
How do I tell the difference between the two. I spoke to the TDI instructor at my LDS and he didn't seem to know what I meant when I asked if they were the FX tanks.
He also mentioned that DIR would want me to use AL80's with a 45lb wing and would probably tell me to use a Halcyon wing.
Hi all,
I am new to diving and looking at buying my first tank but at a loss as to what to get.
I have a 30lb dive rite travel wing and an OMS 45lb wing.
I want tanks that are DIR compliant and will be the right size for my 45lb wing when diving twins for cave and wrecks (in the...
