    My DiveRite XT fins cracked

Normally agree, and if I get a reasonable amount of life out of a pair I have no problem with that approach...but they also are not cheap fins and letting them know about the issues so that they can address them is a good idea. In my case, they replaced them for me and I'd absolutely buy more...

Appreciate it. Will stick to fishing instead of diving this weekend. Good luck all.

Anyone in the Canaveral, Brevard County, or Fort Pierce area been out since Idalia? Wondering if the water has cleared up any. Thanks all!

    My DiveRite XT fins cracked

Sorry to revive this thread a couple months later, but I just noticed the same thing happening to my XTs. Less than 18 months old, and probably only 30 or 40 dives on them here in Florida. Stored indoors when not in use. I've had much cheaper fins last much longer and be abused much more...

Stonington, CT dive report 7/21/2012 9:25AM

Great, thanks! Glad to hear that the opportunity is there for a great dive even if we didn't hit it this time. We're going to give Fort Wetherill a try tomorrow morning and see how it goes.

Stonington, CT dive report 7/21/2012 9:25AM

Nice, ctwreck, I'm jealous. Can I ask what time you guys got out there? It was the first time we tried Stonington and we were there at 815 Saturday 7/21 right in the middle of an incoming tide.

Stonington, CT dive report 7/21/2012 9:25AM

Tried to dive Stonington with my girlfriend this morning. Was dissuaded by the 2-3ft vis...Couldn't see my own knees while floating on the surface, could barely see my hands while on the bottom. Hopefully it will clear up next time we try it.

Young Diver with all gear and lobster license and spear gun!

Welcome to diving! And yes, please do avoid diving by yourself. I'm of the opinion that no one should be diving alone, but I think EVERYONE around will agree that you should be with a buddy at your experience level. As to dive buddies, my girlfriend and I recently moved up to the Middletown...

    Connecticut Shore Dives

My girlfriend and I are looking for some shore dive spots or dive buddies up here, too. Just moved to the Middletown area from North Florida, and while she may not be available as often, I'm up for pretty much whatever, whenever. I'll keep checking in to this thread, too, hope to hear more.

Hey everyone, I've got a pair of atomic aquatics split fins for sale in size X-L that I purchased used, and it turns out that they are a bit big for me, so I'm trying to make my money back, or at least get close. Pictures below, the fins do have cosmetic scratches and no springs here, guys...

Two unknowns from Panama City Beach, FL

Alright guys, two here that I couldn't identify and haven't seen in the many times I've been out to St. Andrew's Jetties in Panama City Beach.... First off, a little crab with some interesting feathery bits. Please ignore the happily colored anemone attempting to distract you: Following right...

Panama City Beach: Name that crab!

Having looked up "ocellated box crab," I would say you got the type of crab, but that it seems to be a "Flame Streaked Box Crab." And, since it was running across the bottom and waving its claws at me when I got close to it, I'd say you were a bit off on the dead part ;) Thank you so much...

Panama City Beach: Name that crab!

Can anyone identify this crab? Seen today, 5/8/2011 snorkeling off of Panama City Beach near the Jetties which were, unfortunately, closed to divers while they dredge for the beaches. Thanks for any guesses or information!

    Uwatec Aladin Wireless Computer

I'm interested. Have you had any issues with loss of signal or anything else on this unit? And does it include the wrist strap? Any idea how many dives you've taken it on? Thanks.

Canon SD780IS and Canon WP-DC31 Housing

One more shot at 250 before I send it on over to Ebay. Is this a fair price, or do you guys think I'm asking too much?

Canon SD780IS and Canon WP-DC31 Housing

How would you rate the optical viewfinder? To be honest, I never used it, but it seems pretty small to me. Is it usable? Definitely usable, but I think a bit small to really get any good use out of. Probably more of a selling point for them than something they actually intended for serious...
