ScubaBoard has helped me survive and enjoy my first few dives with confidence

Thanks Guys. I don't have a speedometer on my divemask... but I just estimated the current speed to be near 5mph because: It seemed to be flowing near fast walking speed, there were swirls spinning off the stern of the boat, It took all our strength to pull ourselves from the stern rope...

ScubaBoard has helped me survive and enjoy my first few dives with confidence

Thanks to all the members who have given the time to help me with all my newbie questions. Although I did have a few mishaps on my first few post-training dives, I survived and enjoyed them with confidence. Thanks My training dives were from a beach that deepend to 40ft, at about 50ft...

I just found my diveknife... sorta, HomeDepot diving supplies? Malco Duct Knive

The rust test results after the first few dives is poor. There is apparently spots of carbon from the steel forging process that allows spots of rust to easily start. I would not brag about this knifes rust resistance at all, but with lube, care, and upkeep...it is a usable and cheap...

I'm a new diver. I got a Tilos Flex Mask where I certified. I liked the flex idea. I find it leaks maybe a bit more than it should. I've seen a cheap price on a Beuchat Mundial Flex Mask. Does anyone know if there is much difference between the two? FLEX [M960] :: Tilos, Inc...

Spear fishing gloves, Advice on type? Are Tilos 1.5mm leather too thin?

Thanks for the info. I have been looking for a cheap "spare pair", or a more protective pair. I like your idea for mechanics gloves, because I agree they should protect well, and I already have a pair or two of those! I'll be diving near 100ft, and I'm a little concerned about thermal...

    The Bare Bones of Spearfishing

I've sent the video to my Brother in Pensacola who has been spearfishing for a while. He was very impressed with the video, and is refining his techniques because of what he learned. I expect he'll be sharing the info with his divebuddies too. Now I'm on a quest to eventually get the video...

New Diver Advice- How much gear to dive with? Too-much / Too-little?

Thanks for the great advice and info guys. I responded and edited a few times to DevonDiver while you guys added info. Great help, Thanks. I like the idea of learning from my mistakes on this forum, rather than on a boat, or under the water. :shocked2:
