That is hwy I have never bought one for my VEO. I'm afraid that it just wouldnt be worth the cost. I hate the Oceanic software so I hand log everything.
I own two and am glad I can just head down and dive when I want (I lake dive since I live 2.5 hrs from Monterey). Fill up on the way home and I am ready for the next mood. The cost of ownership isn't so high that I would't own one. Also I know where I live I have a buddy that is a fire...
I agree with CrticalMass... I have no idea what you mean by keyframes? I too own a GoPro (and a few other cams) and a keyframe is to me is something in editing software. I use Premiere 9.0 and a Keyframe is a frame in a point of time on the video.
Any good online SCUBA shop has basic camera its. Ikelite housings are fantastic but tend to be very expensive. For a first time purchase I would look at buying a complete kit. It can be tough to find a good camera, housing, and strobe. Also if you buy a dedicated UW camera it should have the...
I dive off nor cal in a full 7mm into 50ish degree water and have over 35 dives in the last few months into that type of environement. I hate wearing a 7 full with hood, gloves, and booties... it is very restricting and the weight I wear on my 190lbs frame is brutal to haul on entries and...
I have an Oceanic Veo 250 and the cheapest I have every seen the cable is $89.00. Needless to say I have never purchased it because of this. I have looked everywhere.
Always carry your reg with you. TSA Rules allow them to fly... and I wouldn't take my chances with several hundred dollars of my most important equipment going in coach. I have had my bags rifled through and stolen from several times before and I am certain a reg would dissapear in a...
That just sounds lame. Splt or not they do the same thing. Use what you like. I have tried both and notice little difference between them. My dive buddy swears by split fins. Neither of us are right... because its just preference.
AWESOME! Thanks for the information. I like the instructable and think it may be a fun build. With your flat lens did you install it yourself? Was it easy to do? Do you remove your internal lens?
I love my GoPro... just be sure to get a slat lens for it. My buddy uses a contour and I'm not a big fan of his stuff. When I first got the GoPro I used it on a head mount and just filmed. Now I use a flat lens, I just attach it to a lanyard and hand hold it (I have acarbon fiber rod for a mount)
I love it! Try the chest mount, head mount, or wrist mount... no helmet required. I use the had strap from GoPro and it works fine. I use a lanyard to attach it to my BC so as not to lose it. Works great.
