This is certainly shaping up to be one heck of a project. Think they could spare some extra change to sink a sailboat in TRL? It'd be awesome to descend down a giant mast...

The only issue I could see is that the weight of the gear may be difficult for a younger person to maneuver.

Definitely sounds as if you might have some tooth decay. I know a few divers who have found out about cavities the hard way, too!

I've dove with several different flags. Most are a pain, but the best advice (as others have mentioned) is to take up slack when in shallower water. A taught line is generally quite easy to manage.

I dove it in January sans guide. Nobody stopped us, and it ended up being a great dive. Somebody in this thread was curious as to max depth...we hit about 55' a little bit off of the end of the pier after chasing around a large school of Tarpon. This was easily the most enjoyable dive of the week.

I was there 6 months ago. I'd say 5% of the reefs are struggling, at best. We didn't see or hear about any crime. I did see some suspicious kids at 1000 Steps, but nothing happened and I felt safe the entire vacation. Can't wait to get back.
