Hi all,
I’m looking for some advice on my Kubi glove system. I had a fitted system installed last summer but haven’t had the opportunity to use them until this weekend.
The seals work fine without the gloves and the gloves go on with no issues, however I noticed that the rings on the dry suit...
Thanks for all of the thoughts, I think I’m going to go for the Kubi fitted system. Northern Diver can fit it although they said it’s been very difficult when they’ve done it in the past.
I have made a quick k trip to screwfix to make some fitting rings to work out what size I rings need. In...
Hi all,
Ok so I know that which system is 'best' is very subjective, but I need to replace my wrist seals on my trilam suit and thinking of moving to a dry glove system for the dexterity etc that it offers. I was tempted to get the Northern Diver system (as I have a Northern Diver suit) but I...
Okay, so I’ve been looking at possible other torches to get, I’m also considering the Tektite LS5 (C or D cell battery version?) and the Light For Me - 4XPG. Does anyone have any thoughts or other suggestions?
Thanks
I’d rather have a handheld I think, simpler and I probably don’t need the extra burn time afforded by the external power pack.
I’m really looking for advice as to the kind of brightness and beam angle I need.
Thanks!
Hi All,
I’m looking for a new dive torch for then UK and need a bit of advice. I currently have one of these
Amazon.com : Tovatec Compact Torch : Camping Lights And Lanterns : Sports & Outdoors
with 130 lumens it’s a bit puny for diving in poor visibility.
I asked some advice in a previous...
Hi All,
Has anyone tried the Northern Diver Varilux 3500 or Varilux TEC 4000 torches? They look like good value and I've always liked Northern Diver gear, decent and no nonsense.
Thanks
People have always spoken about how the younger generation are worse (it was even recorded some years BC) than the previous generation and moaning about the smart phone generation is no different.
Hi,
I am needing to buy a pair of gloves/mitts to last me through the winter.
The guys I dive with use the waterproof brand semi dry mitts 7mm, and say they do a good job.
I inquired at the LDS and they can get them in but the guy who runs it said he thinks 7mm is too thick for dexterity and...
Thanks for all the advice, I have decided to buy the aluminum backplate with harness and I'll wait and see next time I travel if the sta and cam bands cause any issues.
Craig66 I do understand what you mean, I fully agree that there should be no reason that the average Joe shouldn't be able to do simple maintenance on their gear, I just wanted to make clear that Tobin wasn't trying to drum up extra business by his advice.
I would recommend extreme caution with heat, experience tells me that things like this don't just melt back into position but tend to get worse. Of course people more experienced than me in this kind of thing might have more luck!
To be fair at no point was he suggesting anyone need take it to the LDS, just that they are better off not removing the valve, 'at your own risk' I guess, as Craig66 said it may be different on the DSS ones.
