    Double wetsuits..

Yeah. I guess my wrist seals are not as tight as they could be. Do you mean that you can get your old suit adjusted??

Thanks for the answer. This looks really interesting. I think I go for the extra suit.

    Double wetsuits..

I´m having thoughts of buying a thinner extra wetsuit to wear under my semidry for colder dives. Perhaps a 2mm. Hoping that the extra suit will decrease the waterflow to a minimum under the semidry. Have anyone tried this?? Does it works?? I have offcourse had thougts of a drysuit too but I´m...

    60-68 degree water - semi-dry or drysuit?

I would go for a semi if I were you. Maybe a 7mm. I dive easily in 55 degrees with my 7mm. The semidry is cheaper then the drysuit also...But buy a 7mm in stead of your 5mm. Then I think you would be fine.. And a hood offcours..

    Where did you dive today?

I was diving under a car bridge in the lake back home. They say that there is a car lying at the bottom of this lake (20 meters down), I still haven´t found it yet. And my air consume is ridiculously high. I think it´s time for me to get a bigger tank really now..

Is it possible for me to dive even though I don't know how to swim?

If you don´t know how to swim at all I think it´s really dangerous to even think about diving. If you don´t even now how to kick your self up to the surface....I can´t even imagine my self putting on all my diving gear and jump down in a lake or sea somewhere if I didn´t even know the basics of...

How strong of a swimmer are you?

You don´t have to be a Johnny Weismuller to be a diver..I don´t even swim as a recreation or exercise. Think it´s pretty boring to swim 30-40 lenghts in the pool.. The only exercise I use to do is running... But I have to admit that I´m pretty worthless withouth my fins...

    Creepy things found diving

****...That definitely qualifies as being creepy I must say..It´s one thing to find a human skull when you penetrating an old wreck..Even if you find it a bit scary it´s nothing unnatural with a skeleton inside an old sunken ship.. But finding that stuff inside a waterlogged...

things I found out when I returned to diving

All the gear is the big minus of this sport indeed. Before a dive I sometimes think: "Why the heck am I doing this stuff."? All the preparations, carrying. I sometimes get a little feeling of claustrophobia putting the tight wetsuit on and pulling the hood over the head. But as soon as your...

Are you wearing snorkel while SCUBA diving?

I have one of thouse cheap snorkels without a sump valve in the bottom. Think its pretty confortable to have one when I´m up floating on the surface. Especially when its windy with waves. But I hate when water gets inside and you feel like coughing yourself to death.. I think it´s time to buy a...

    Are cold water divers better?

There must be some difference. It´s obvius that it´s more difficult (need more exercise) diving in 4 degrees C with a drysuit then diving in warm tropical water with a tiny bodysuit. I takes more practise to master buoyancy with a dry I think. And you have not only the BC to think about. You...

When should a shop request your C-Card?

Isn´t the common thing that you never have to show your card?? I mean. It´s not elegal to buy diving equipment without the C-card. You don´t have to have a driving license to buy a car either...Even paintball players using the scuba shops to refill their tanks. No one can forbid them to do that...

To weight or not to weight

I have heard that if you dive with a pretty thick wetsuit you shall have about 10 percent of your bodyweight added in your belt...I´m about 60 kilograms and has 4,8 kilo in the belt in a 7 mm suit. And I think I can cut of about 0,5 kilos lead. I´m gonna try it next time I dive. I think there...

    Problems Removing Mask

We all have to do this thing when we take our certificate. But doing this thing in a nice warm pool is one thing... I havn´t more then 15 dives logged after I took my cert..And it striked me a couple of days ago that I havn´t tried to pull off the mask under water since the course. I was out...

Dumbest things you've seen a newbie diver do

Why vomit in to the reg?? Can´t all the stuff you throw up get stuck inside and clog the reg?? Whats wrong with removing the reg and vomit?? As long as you do the standard procedure and blowing in the reg before inhale again it can´t be wrong... Or could it??

Dumbest things you've seen a newbie diver do

A thing happened to me last time i dived..A strap loosened from one of my fins..Never happened before. I never detached the strap before. Not even on dry land..Never had a reason to do it..I floated around on the surface trying to get the plastic buckle back on the fin...Couldn´t do it. So I...

What's your next scuba gear purchase?

    OK...I just bought a Suunto compass now...Next spring I think I will buy a 10 L 300 bar bottle..I got a 12 liter 200 bar now and I consume pretty much gas. A used 10 L bottle is no big money...
