ScubaPro Go Sport fins in drift diving

Thanks. Can I clarify though - are you saying the Go Sport is or isn't more powerful than the F2? Or are you recommending the Mares instead as a travel fin.

ScubaPro Go Sport fins in drift diving

I'm looking for a new set of travel fins. We've always used the Hollis F2's for travel, but I keep finding they really lack the power of the regular jet fins, and we get left behind in current. Has anyone by chanced used both and can comment on whether they are more powerful than the F2's or...

    Scuba shop “explosion” Australia

That Murdoch news rags likes to put random videos that have nothing to do with the article. I assume to drive advertising revenue. They seem to be "tag" matched, so they'll show any random video of an explosion in this example.

    Scuba shop “explosion” Australia

Typical poor news article but sounds like another tragic cylinder filling accident https://www.news.com.au/finance/work/man-seriously-injured-in-diving-shop-explosion/news-story/bfee1b48a8ec34d11d7ec823f7aec6b0

Manly Beach fatality - Sydney, Australia

Such a huge loss to the local GUE community and diving community in Sydney. So many questions, I hope the local authorities take up the offer of assistance in the incident analysis.

Suit filed in case of "Girl dead, boy injured at Glacier National Park

Which was pretty much a mis-carriage of justice. And not directly relatable as as he plead guilty due to a very specific Qld state law about failing to render assistance. 4.pdf (austlii.edu.au) and from one of our members Michael McFadyen's Scuba Diving Web Site (michaelmcfadyenscuba.info)...

Suit filed in case of "Girl dead, boy injured at Glacier National Park

Given her public posts on FB about this incident, I'm not sure she is what I would call a logical thinker.

10 Years on From Fatal Dive - Lessons to be Learnt

My wifes IPE occurred when we were in Cozumel in April / May. I can't recall off the top of my head the exact water temp, but it was hardly "cold". The incident was preceded by an overly long swim due to being dropped in the wrong place. Edit: Apparently it was 25C My Wifes IPE in Cozumel |...

Suit filed in case of "Girl dead, boy injured at Glacier National Park

I don't think I can add much to the commentary on the actual incident except to say that the poor girl was never going to get out of that lake unassisted. What a horrendous set of events. I'm really surprised that the agencies haven't picked up their game. In my role, i have to undergo...

Girl dead, boy injured - Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park

I’ve just read the account of this accident posted on the FB Scuba Accidents page. While this account of events is compiled by the families lawyers.. if even half of it is true then people should be in jail. The claim is that this dive shop took a diver with only 4 wet warm water dives… into a...

Forum Newbie Saying G'Day from the Sollies

Rob, might be worth posting in the pacific Islands forum. I've personally only really done Gizo and Uepi, but man.. beats any other diving i've ever done as far as marine life goes. Just go to youtube and search such as

    Performing a CESA After Exhale

Just try to hum on the way up, it will keep your glottis open and any residual air will escape. Just like a cesa with full lungs.

Pulmonary Barotrauma with Short Interval Shallow Freedives

It sounds to me like an IPE too. You should get a complete cardiac workup by a hyperbaric aware cardiologist. DAN can probably recommend one.

We Dodged Lots of Little Bullets

I'm with the others, I would have called the dive much earlier, probably on the boat. Not quite sure i get this logic. Keep the reg in, you can't get a mouth full of water unexpectedly with a reg like you can a snorkel.

Maintain your gear, and be FAMILIAR with how to use it

I've seen a fair few uncontrolled ascents from depth, you'd have to be pretty unlucky to get seriously bent on a rec dive. But, that doesn't excuse the fact that you would probably do well with a skills update and a rescue course. Hell, you might even consider the deep dark depths of and agency...

Lusitania dive accident - insufficient insurance

So. Does anyone actually know anything factual about this accident? It must have been a hell of a lot of skipped deco to get hit that hard. I'd also be interested in knowing time between surface and the first pot session. My fear in an incident like this is always that they spent too long...

Container to take car smart key fob down with me.

Those hitch safes are rather obvious. I just stick my key in a normal metal key safe, and lock it around part of the suspension. The key-safe acts as a Faraday cage well enough for our cars.

Fire on dive boat Conception in CA

Ok thanks. I was just curious whether some people might have had a few extra drinks on the last night but doesn't sound likely if they were diving the next day.
