    Sigma 19mm M4/3 lens UW

Back to lenses. The Sigma 19mm and 30mm turned up this morning. They do sit well back in the PT 03 housing but there does not appear to be any vignetting with the standard port. Both lenses focused perfectly through the port out of the water. ( Because they sit so far back I wondered if the...

    Sigma 19mm M4/3 lens UW

When I was living in the UK my closest friend was married to a girl originally from Spring Lake. They have recently moved to Grand Haven permanently. We visited them in late fall 2011 when they were staying in their holiday home. She has a cousin who owns a dive store in GH which is how I heard...

    Sigma 19mm M4/3 lens UW

Thanks again Jon & Phil. I agree with Jon about your posts Phil - always read with great interest. In fact you steered me in the direction of my E-PL2 which, strangely enough, I had delivered to Grand Haven MI on my only ever visit to the US in 2011 ... right next to Spring Lake where Jon...

    Sigma 19mm M4/3 lens UW

Thnaks. i wondered if they might sit too far back in the standard housing. At that price though they will be useful above water. I found them on B & H. They are currently out of stock but taking back orders.

    Sigma 19mm M4/3 lens UW

Anyone know how the 19mm and 30mm would go with an EPL2 and standard Oly EP03housing? From what I have read they are both faster (light not focus) and sharper than the kit 14-42 lens ... although there may be issues with build quality. At US $199 for both it is worth getting them shipped down...

A few pics with the E-Pl2........

I bought an EPL2 and housing, strobe & video light a couple of months back whilst heading back to NZ from the UK via the US. I will do my first dive with the kit in a couple of weeks. However I was out on the boat yesterday with the standard 14-42 lens when some dolphins came to play. I have...

    EPL2 with 14-42 lens .. should I buy?

Thanks very much for the advice. For a start I think I will go with the adaptor and something like the Dryon +7. The flexibility mentioned reminds me of my old 35mm film Sea & Sea kit which I enjoyed using until digital became available. I had not read the full specs of the 35mm macro lens -...

    Kiwi Under Water

I joined up this week and got straight into the photography forums (such a fantastic resource) then discovered you should introduce yourself first. I started diving 11 years ago at age 44 back home in New Zealand and only wish I had done it decades earlier. I logged 150 odd dives around NZ...

    EPL2 with 14-42 lens .. should I buy?

Thanks for the suggestion Guy I will check it out. I had like someone else who posted in the last few days noticed a 35mm macro lens at a good price but your suggestion would make for a more flexible set up.

    EPL2 with 14-42 lens .. should I buy?

Now that I have had time to peruse the postings going back almost a year I find nearly every question I have has been asked by someone else and answered. Thanks to everyone out there especially Phil, who is a font of wisdom on these matters and Chris for his prompt reply. The EPL2 kit mentioned...

    EPL2 with 14-42 lens .. should I buy?

Thanks Chris. Very helpful. I did have a play with the EPL3 in a store yesterday. It will be interesting to see how the housing with the LEDs tests but I don't have time to wait for that. One of the attractions of the 3/4 system, apart from image quality, is that lenses and some...

    EPL2 with 14-42 lens .. should I buy?

I am about to return to diving after a few years away and need a camera. I was going to buy a package built around the Lumix LX 5. However I have been offered a well priced package deal including Oly EPL 2 with 14-42mm lens & focus gear, Sea & Sea YS-01 strobe and the Oly EP-03 housing. The...
