How many logged dives does a diver need before able to get nitrox certified?

why is it that a free diver can go deeper and ascend faster than someone whith a breathing apparatus and not be harmed?

CONGRADULATIONS! I was certified in florida back in september. What ocean dives did you do?, We did a hovercraft, bridge, barge, and navy mine sweeper. I dove the morrison spring visibilty was 100 and if your ever back down there id recommend going.;)

This might be a dumb question but what exactly is po2?

whenever you mention FITNESS is that more in the area of running a mile or stregnth, or the area of both.

thats rediculous, and not to mention the cost of an checkout dive in florida or whatever.just my 2 cents though.:eek:
