I am a diver for the rescue team here and have dove lake Dardanelle several times. If you get 4 inches of vis you are having a very good day. Are you working the shut down at the power plant?
I recovered 2 kids from the cab of a pickup who were submerged for 45 minutes in 45 deg water a couple of years ago here in Arkansas. I "WHAT IF" it for a while and then I realized they were dead by the time my pager went off and after they got to the hospital they just stayed dead!!!
This is in my buddy's back yard. I have asked him to speak to the owner to see if I could dive it but so far no answer. He told me that some kids had stole a 18 wheeler tractor and strip it and dumped it in the Quarry. Maybe one day he will let me dive it
I use a 30cf for any dive below 60 ft. I like having the extra air for equipment failure. I have never had to use it but it is there if needed. A real eye opener for me is when I started to divemaster for class and during the freeflow excerise you see how fast your air supply can go away.
If the dive shop owner thinks like that ( Octo and SPG are optional ) then what else does he think is optional? Maybe testing the air and servicing his compressor, inspecting for cracks on a VIP, replacing the high pressure seat on an annual.
You can dive from the campsites but vis is usally not that great. Your best bet is to jump in your truck and drive to the dam. it is only about 10 miles from the state park or rent a pontoon boat.
I have not heard in the news that they have found her. I have been following this story but have not heard if they have found her. Last I heard is they gave up on sonar and were going to use divers but the water was 170 FT in that area. There was another lady drowned two years ago I think. I do...
Hey mike,
Now that is a great idea!!! I already hide the key in the car when I drive the wife's Explorer because it has keyless entry. Thanks for the Help.
Does anyone know if the chip encoded ignition keys will be affected by water by diving with them. I have never dove with one. My wife's car has keyless entry and I would just leave the key hidden inside. My new Jeep does not have the keyless entry but does have the encoded key.
I was dipping 2 to 2.5 cans a day at the last. I saw all the gruesome pictures too but made no impact on me. I finally made up my mind to quit and did. One of the hardest things I have ever done. Just make up your mind set a goal to quit and achieve your goal. The craving will ease up but I...
