Sounds like another case of big head syndrome.

7mm with full hood / boots and gloves. I dive year round on Long Island but I do it dry. The surface temp during the end of the summer is nice and 7mm would be too much but goto any type of depth and it gets cold. Good luck!!

I wouldn't make the cord longer since you risk getting it caught up. I attached a small plastic ball to the end of it to make it easier to grab. I dive a lot in cold water so finding a small string w/ thick gloves on was hard for me also.

wow, they had to have been using rebreathers w/ 21% right? I mean, that is some serious gas needed for that dive. Maybe their back gas was 21% but that had 50 and 100 for deco. Unless it was a very short dive, which i doubt, that is some serious deco time.

i dont understand, why not just use trimix? Makes no sense. Does anyone know what kind of deco obligation would arise from such a dive?
