Hawkbill Turtle on a Rash Guard

I'm looking to get some business from a local master's swim club. I've been putting together some reusable templates to paint on just about anything, this one was done in about 40 minutes. For swimming, I was thinking of adding some splashes and putting some text referring to a butterfly...

    Cuttlefish

This is a watercolor painting on hardboard. The reference was a cuttlefish that I took video of while in Puerto Galera. I decided I'd blow it up by airbrushing it to make a souvenir. The final size is 18"x24".

    Dolphins on a swimsuit

I got some new acrylic paint in from Createx (the wicked line) and decided to play around with it. My girlfriend wanted a picture with three dolphins, so she got it. I didn't take a perfect picture, its actually sharper than the picture shows. Pretty nice, and it should hold up pretty well.

    Dolphin Sunset

A pod of dolphins frolicking as the sun sets. This is a 4'x3' mural on ceramic tile, destined to go into a shower.

    Juvenile Garibaldis

Three juvenile garibaldis, assembled from three separate photos onto a T-shirt. This was done as a Christmas gift.

    Aliens at the Underwater Park

I found myself diving at the Catalina Underwater Park this Sunday. I headed out with my camera, and came upon a sight! I saw all of these eggs...I was hovering over them, they had movement inside, so I prepared to take a picture. Out of nowhere, one of them comes up, knocks my reg out and hugs...

    Crab hates me

Back in February in Roatan, I had some fun and wrote up a love message on a dive slate for my girlfriend, which I hid and then pulled her over to show her "a great picture" while she had her camera out on a dive. Last weekend I was trying to have some fun taking video and the still existant "I...

    Openwater Circus

It's too tough to find things that are interesting enough to show on the openwater diver course tours these days because of the movies; you have to make a circus of it to keep the students interested now.

    Artwork on a jersey

This is some artwork I did for a friend on her athletic jersey. This will be her first time at the Iron Man Triathlon in Kona. As a bonus, she'll have a chance to dive for a few days after the event.

Shark Toilet - Who knows what evil lurks in your plumbin?

Do you have problems with friends/relatives/in-laws that should stay at a hotel, but always wind up staying with you? Maybe you find you drink too much, and need a reason to stop worshipping the porcelain god? Or maybe you or other family members just spend too much time on the can? The...

Humpback whale mural on porcelain tile

After moving into a new home, I'm getting one of the bathrooms remodeled. I figured I'd go ahead and personalize the place by doing a wall mural. I didn't want it to be the typical overly violent Nitroxinator image, I went a tad more commercial. The final piece is 4' by 3'. Time will tell if my...

Lord of the Dive - The Fellowship of the Dive

A little something I whipped up. I may do a few more tweaks to this here and there, but it's basically finished. If you can't dive now, maybe this will stoke your imagination. For those who dive Westward Beach in So. Cal, beware. . . . Ah, the depths of Westwardia. The wealth of...

    Yar! The Jolly Diver Mat

I was going to go out diving, but the weather wasn't too certain, so things fell through. I opted instead to customize a mat for use with diving. Time will tell if the paint will hold up.

    Eternal War Series

Just to put some new life in this forum... I hope nobody takes offense at this picture, its not meant to be anything more than a creative idea. I had several ideas related to this concept, this is just the first. The spirits are unwilling to accept that they have died. They continue to...

Dive Hobos - Seen 'em by you?

Yeah, they have those signs out, "Will dive for food". Sometimes they're just on the benches, dressed in their dive gear using a newspaper for a blanket. I needed a buddy, and made the mistake. "Food" really meant money, and you can guess what they spent it on. A cheap airfill and a 12 pack...

Nikon vs. Fantasea vs. Ikelite for Coolpix 4600/5600

After a significant amount of research, I've finally decided I want to go with Nikon for instructional use. Its small, and I think it will be good enough as a PnS so that students won't be turned off to photography because "it's too difficult". The small size and PnS capability eliminates some...

    Genetic Engineering Gone Awry

The elusive bald eagle ray. It's saying "Don't Dive on Me!" Any others? This forum has been dead lately.

    How about some comics

What the heck, lets get some comics together. Maybe we can eventually get a scubaboard calendar put together or something. This one's for October and the opening of lobster season if it ever comes to that... I put this together while the rainstorms were coming down at the end of last year...

How do YOU shoot a sunball?

There was another thread asking about the "best camera" for shooting a "sunball". I happen to like the backlit shots, too. But, I already have my scalpal (a C5050), I want to become the best surgeon possible with my particular scalpal, something that wasn't being addressed in that other...

Call the sci-fi channel, anybody else seen this?

It was during my assistant instructor course; out in the surf at Westward Beach, there was this whale. I didn't have my camera with me, so I'm just having to use my recollection here to do a reconstruction, which was tough, I only saw it for a few moments. I think it was around 20 feet long...
