    Any diving near Disney World?

There's diving in Daytona Beach, which is about 1 1/2 hours east of the area where you'll be. If you do a Google search with "scuba diving in daytona beach florida," you'll see a list of diver operators.

    Night Diving Question

Night diving is a whole lot of fun and quite peaceful. The suggestion of whether you're comfortable with it is a good one, but how can you be comfortable with something you haven't tried? Buoyancy control is paramount at night, because of the loss of reference and you can get disoriented quite...

    Blue Heron Bridge

My last dive at Blue Heron Bridge was a night dive in February and we parked on the street. High tide was around 8 p.m., so it was already dark. Did not get a ticket and was not told we could not dive at night. Then again, we dove the east end, so we weren't in the "park" per se. I dove...

Dive Rite Express and their customer service

FYI, Fill Express = Dive Rite Express. See Fill Express -- Nitrox & Technical Diving Specialist Serving Greater Fort Lauderdale and click on Retail. My .02 psi is simple; the coin has two sides, and no one is talking about what is "DRX['s]" side, so since this is a public thread, and Fill...

    Dive Flag Laws in Florida

This subject is like the many religions of the world; everyone thinks theirs is the one, yet not one has gotten it 100% correct. No pun intended to anyone. Bottom line, your preference may not be the other diver's preference and either both, or neither, are wrong. Colin hit it on the head. We...

Please help the ignorant! Question on HP Steel tanks

I own 2 AL 63's 2 AL 80's and 1 Worthington HP X8-130. One of my buddies has a Faber (Blue Steel) 133. The Faber tank shows a buoyancy of +1.7 lbs when empty, while my tank calls for a buoyancy of -2.4 lbs when empty. Both weigh about the same when full (about 55 lbs) and both have about the...

You just might be addicted to diving if.....

When Fill Express is authorized to charge your cc on the 15th and the 30th of every month to renew your fill card; When you go on a date and before going to the restaurant you take her to Divers Direct to have her try on a wetsuit, so you can "see what she looks like in a wetsuit.":D

OK, so the seas are going to be 2 foot or less this weekend....

Did a shore dive off 12th St. in Pompano today; water temp 76, 2 - 3' seas, vis was crappy, about 5' where we dropped down, and it opened up to about 15' at the third reef line. No lobsters to be had. Good navigation exercise though..

    How finiky are dive computers?

Oceanic is Aeris' sister company; I have owned an Aeris Atmos 2 for 4 years now, and after more than 200 dives with it, I still get its "christmas music" while ascending, and I'm talking I take 30 - 45 seconds to come off my safety stop. Aeris/Oceanic's algorithm is just way too sensitive...

Planning a trip to Key Largo

I know Pat and Brent are being modest, but you might also want to check out their dive ops as well (Silent World, and Blue Water Divers). Both excellent ops and a few miles closer than Tavernier. Key Largo has some really nice places to stay, and while the night life in K.L. isn't the best...

    Ancient Mariner Sunday 11/12/06 @ 1p

Well folks, the dives were great, and the boat, not very crowded. Seas were 2 feet or less, and water temp 78F on both dives. Vis at the Ancient Mariner was about 50' with no current, and on the second dive, which was at a reef called lighthouse ledge, was about 50 - 60'. The second dive...

Beach Dive in Fort Lauderdale, Saturday Nov 11

I had a great time Debby. This dive site is quite nice, despite the swim. I see you went after the one that got away on the 1st dive and you got it...nice going!!! Did you guys make it to the drop off again on the 2nd dive? I have a feeling that if this reef structure is similar to the reef...
