    calling home from cozumel

I recommend the phones at any of the various internet cafes. This is what my wife and I use when we call home to check on the kids. They can be found for 40-50 cents a minute and our experience is they always seem to round DOWN to the nearest minute and charge nothing if the line is busy or your...

    Scuba Club Dive resort

You can't please everyone all te time so you're sure to hear some bad things. All in all, SCC is the only place my wife and I will stay at when we go to Cozumel. The staff is great, the food is great. Most of the beds are very comfortable and if yours isn't, ask nice and they will bring you a...

    Dollars or Pesos?

I agree with others here. We carry some cash, and our first stop is always at an ATM for pesos. Funny about some of the places in Cozumel is that if you give them dollars they try and give change in pesos, if you give pesos, they try to give change in dollars. Some places are alwayts trying to...

    SuperBowl in Coz

The "All Sports Bar". It is one block? off the main square in what would be the "far back left corner" of the Square when facing the main square and the water behind you. Lots of tv's decent food and drinks. My wife and I watched several bowl games there just two weeks ago.

    Anyone using the 8080 with a PT-023?

I would hold off on the 8080 as the new Evolt E-300 DSLR is now out and the 8080 is virtually obsolete already. They both have 8 MP with the E-300 advantage of interchangeable lenses. Only say this because I am looking into this myself. I hope there is a decent housing on the way for the E-300!

Getting Around - Taxi - Bike - Walking

When my wife and I stay in Cozumel we prefer to stay at Scuba Club Cozumel. It's about a mile from there to the heart of san Miguel and we walk everywhere. Everyone we meet on the streets are friendly including locals we would run into, even late at night. We have always felt very safe and walk...

Scooter Accident Story and a couple of Coz Q's

I am always amazed at the overloaded scooters I see in Cozumel. My wife and I were there last week and actually saw a group of guys driving with the big Carlos & Charlies yard glasses dangling from there teeth as these drove through town. We stay at the Scuba Club Cozumel where we can enjoy a...

    Cozumel Feb water temp?

Just returned 4 days ago. According to the info downloaded from my computer the water temp was 79 on almost all dives, even at depth. This was a little colder than last year where temps were 79 to 81. I don't think you can ever expect them to be below 79-80 degrees in winter. By the way, our...

"good" price on flight from New York?

Hopefully by February things will be worked out, best of luck. My wife and I saw a lot about the problems out of Philly and it was a very busy holiday time of year, contracts are being renogotiated, employees taking pay cuts, so a few called in sick, no big deal right? Sorry, it is not my...

    Countdown to Coz begins

My wife and I are going Jan. 1 - 8. Staying at Scuba Club Cozumel, our third trip to Coz and second time with SCC. First year was at the Reef Club (no further comments.....we decided to make this an annual event at SCC, never again at the reef club) We will be meeting another couple we met at...

    Cozumel Diving

I can help with the timing question. I've been to Coz the last two January's and will be there again this January. Did the Reef Club the first year (which I do not recommend, but that's another story) Personally, I like that time of year, everything seems a little less crowded. Since discovering...

I enjoy Scuba Club Cozumel. My wife and I will be making our third trip there this January. We just booked and got their buy one get second at half price deal. The food is great, and it's a nice twenty minute walk to downtown. I could go on and on, let me know if your interested in any specifics.
