I will be there as well, sounds like a good meeting place..... I am curious to put some faces to some screen names. The question is how will we know who's who? BTW, does anyone konw of a good cheap hotel around there. I know I procrastinated but I still need to find a room, or I sleep...

Gas Blending Math (He and Nitrox)

Does anyone actually know the formula with the Z-factor included. I know the formula is a PITA but I am writing my own blending program so I want it for that. I have the TDI advanced gas blending and service manual but it only uses the ideal gas law. I should know this from my physical...

    blending question

Is it really necessary to analyze the He in a mix. I mean if you did your calculations right and your O2 comes out fine, is there a need to analyze He. The reason I ask is because purchasing a He analyzer is very expensive. I am thinking about making one, but the output from the sensor is not...

Building a Better Mousetrap (O2 Analyzer)

Dmdalton said that you can use a volt/ohm meter and a sensor with some math to find the O2 percent. Is it a simple ratio formula or a big math problem? could someone tell me the formula if it is? I am in the process right now of building, but the volt meter will work for now. Thanks ADAM

    Diving Concepts & DUI Opinions

Okay I know this has been done before, but there was not enough info for me. I am looking to buy a drysuit in a couple of weeks (when the $$ gets there). I can get the DC at cost or maybe get the DUI at the preferred rate. I am soon to be an assistant instructor in a couple of weeks. I...

For all of you Homebrewers out there...

What is wrong with the analog guages. All the gas I have blended has been on an analog guage, and I am usually no more than a percent off. I have not had the luxury or the money to purchase a digital guage, so I use an incremented analog guage that ranges from 0-4000 PSI. I will admit the...

    Gas Management Question

WW + O-ring, I do plan dives the lazy way, I figured since we were on a discussion, I would use the correct numbers. Usually i jsut use deco planner, for my gas, find my rock bottom, and plan from there. I do not go through this every dive. ADAM

    Gas Management Question

Okay guys, I will admit I am new to deco diving. I have taken the TDI Adv Nitrox + Deco Class and the DIRF class and know what rock bottom is. You guys really confuesed me. So what you are saying that O-ring should do is, if he starts with the working pressure of 2700 on double 108's, he...

    I think I'm converted

Whatever back plate you go with will be okay. They are pretty much indestructable and will last forever. I own 2 Fred T plates (the heavy SST and the Al) and I am more than happy. It is an excellent plate design. I have also use my freind's diverite and another's halcyon, both also worked...

    Toss DUI boots?

I have a pair of converse all stars (the old basketball shoe) that I got for $15. I have them sized for just warm water. They work better than the dive boots in my opinion. I have never tried them with my drysuit. Since it is only another $15, I think i can risk going and getting another...

    Deco Software

I am currently using D-plan and I love it. The only problem with it is, that It does not calculate CNS%. Has someone written a program for the palm that will calculate the CNS% and nothing else? I do not want to buy another dive program. I know calculating CNS is easy, but I would love...

What's considered a "good" SAC Rate?

I have a SAC Rate of .72 and that is non stop moving with doubles and a stage. I usually plan my dives for this b/c if there comes a need for heavy work, I will have enough gas. My normal SAC rate for moderate activity is about .58 on a single 80 and .61 with doubles and a stage.
