. There's a wildlife park a few miles from me, and the ring-tail lemurs are free to roam around. I walked around a corner, and found him sunning himself on the bench. . I took this one the same day. .

Newly Certified 79 Year Old Diver (debersole's father)

Fantastic Doug... and more importantly, fantastic Danny. I'm considering heading out on the Shearwater in early December Doug, how about joining me, and dangling your dad off the back with a bait crate? David

    Upgraded Batteries for DS125

I've just seen on another forum that Ikelite has changed the battery packs for the DS125 strobes from NiCad to NIMH. This means 250 full powered flashes from 1 charge. Good news I think. David

    Shark book?

As already said, the Sea of Cortez is not the place for sharks anymore. It's still a nice place to dive, and one of the best for sealions, but the sharks are all but gone. I'd also go for the Shark Watchers Handbook. It's a bit out of date, and you'll probably get second-hand only, but I still...

    More Sharks?

Glad you like them. All dives were shark dives, all in the bahamas area. All tigers, great hammerheads and lemons. We were hoping for reefs as well, but got blown out by the weather before we could dive the right areas. We did see numerous bulls also, but they were too chicken to come in for a...

    Camera Dilemma

House the D2H. You must be keen on photography to own the Nikon, and you'll be disappointed with the results from a point and shoot. Just do it. David

Manta Rays and Sharks of Socorro -- April 2006

An excellent idea. I'm probably doing something in July, not quite sure where yet, then on to the Maldives in October, and the Nautilus trip next Feb. So after next February would probably be best. Destinations I have in mind are Cocos and Malpelo, Protea banks, Palau, the Costa Rica coast...

    Solmar V, or Nautilus Explorer?

Thanks everyone. Sounds like either boat will be a good trip. I've opted for the Nautilus heading out in Feb. next year for eleven days. Humpback season, so fingers crossed. David

Manta Rays and Sharks of Socorro -- April 2006

Hi Doug, sorry I haven't been on here for a while, so I missed your reply to my question about which boat to take. I guess the Nautilus did you proud! Fantastic photos, but I shouldn't be surprised by that from you. I've booked the Nautilus for 11 days next Feb, looking forward to it...

Ikelite iTTL works, and VERY well...

Thank you very much for the kind words Ron. The iTTL does work very well, and I hope for great things from macro work. As Ryan said, Karl Dietz has done wonderful stuff using the same set-up as mine (I copied some camera settings from him for the shark trip), and he has now upgraded to the D200...
