We are going to be in Pompano in two weeks are are looking for a recommendation for an operator to take us out to see nice fishes, reefs and maybe a wreck. Looking at mid-week diving, probably the 23rd and/or 24th.

Good Luck Fred. I went through a bunch of therapy for my left shoulder years ago. It did get better and now only bothers me if I do a lot of repatative stuff with that arm. You're right... this aging thing is a royal pain.

I'm scheduled to meet someone at Peacock Saturday AM, but have no plans yet for Sunday. Simon, do you know where you are diving on Sunday yet?

Are there really that many divers in the area or is it one of those cases where there are a lot of shops and they are all on the brink of extinction all of the time?

Friends of mine are coming down in a couple of months and are planning on staying somewhere around the Melbourne/Cocoa Beach Area. They are interested in doing their OW cert. Any dive shop recommendations for that area. Thanks.

I was with you right up to this point. BCD on right seems counter intuative since the inflater hose is on the left. I route from the left post straight over my shoulder to the inflator, and then right post under the arm to the drysuit valve. Is there a reason why the opposite is better?

I'm trying to convince the better half that we need a weekend dive trip to south FL. She likes her warm water, pretty reefs, and pretty fishes. What are the water temps like around Pompano and Key Largo in mid-late March? Thanks.

As has been said in many other threads it's more the instructor than the agency. There are a number of good instructors on the board. I personally use Rick Murcar and so far have moved through Cavern and Intro Cave. You can find him here as GDI.

Sorry, Florida springs and caves run 69 to 72 all year. Can't speak for anywhere else. Yes, at this time of year in North Florida, particularly for the morning dive, the water is much warmer than the air. Now, in a couple of months, the water is a nice cool off (at least initially) from the...

They all run between 69 and 72 all the time, regardless of the temp outside. The only variance may by if the system is flooding.

I agree. Self regulation within the industry is far better than being subjected to government regulation which will vary as we all travel. As noted above, the key is to get to a point where the instructors actually require students be at least as strong as the card they are being awarded...
