If I was making odds I'd say figure on having 2 rainy days in that week - AKR should take you to the South side if it's ruff on North.....

Bananarama will take good care of you...
In my opion Roatan is one of the best places for new divers:
1. Reef Structure - there is no need for you to go down 80 feet and burn air with the rest of the group - you can profile at 30 or 40 and never loose sight the DM and still have all kinds...
At the apex of the property bubble 1br units were 350 grand... It's a nice place...
Beach is spectacular.... Banna-Rama dive shop is about 50 yards down the beach - good dive op - several vary nice resturants very close by...... If you want fancy and Roatan this would be your best bet............
I have known Oscar for a long time. He does get the coral from the shrimp and lobster boats. And I know that he is the only person in Honduras with a real government permit to sell it.
He does lovely work and the stuff would just go to waste if he didn't make something wonderful out of it.
You might want to checck with Peter Wilcox "contact info at bottom of post"
I did my IDC with him in January and he did a great job - really knows what they expect at the IE.. He also helps with the IE so he is well conected... He can set you up with a place to stay and has a pretty good job...
most people I know use these guys hydeshipping.com - if you are staying at a resort or somebody that does business here they most likely have a address acount with these guys... Jackson Shipping is also in Miamia but most people I know don't use them anymore - don't know why....
When I ship...

We dove everyday of the week the hurricane was suposedly battering the Island.
Storm had "NO" impact wat so ever on Roatan.... Rained a little Wen night and that was it......
From my dealings with the floks over there - I am sure it won't be a problem...
I am sure that the maids will be happy to do your laundry on a daily basis for little or no charge... Probably a little "tip" here and there and you'll have to hide the clean stuff to keep them from washing that as...
I fly Houston to Roatan 6 to 8 times a year and either fly Taca or Contental which ever is cheaper at the time.... Taca has been lowest most of the time this year....
Never had any problems with TACA - they have one of the over-all newest fleet of aircraft in the world...
Are you flying or...
"Cactus Juice" works very well - doesn't have harmfull chemicals - If you can't find it in a store at home you can buy it almost anywhere on the island.....
You made a good choice in where to stay - the folks there will take great care of you
Also if you email BIBR and ask them to pick...
Island Power is streched to it's limit from all the development plus the usual problems.
Service has been very eratic for the past year and a half - Don't look for it to get better anytime soon.......
We started going to Roatan in 95 and from about 99 to 05 they were pretty reliable...
You could probably do Mandy's Eal Garden as a almost practical shore dive - Bout 50 yards from the beach.....
The reason they discourge it is most likely cause the water is pretty shallow and there is a large amount of boat traffic - especially the little water taxis that zip around - Don't...
