11/25/07: Delaware wreck with Richie Kohler and John Yurga

Great story...Sounded like a really fun day....I thought it was all great except that you would even think about using a tickle stick to get a lobster. These things do damage to the lobster and it's unfair......If it's that important to get a lobster stop by Acme on the way home. Stick your hand...

Legal & other issues from SG Mishap

I have tried to read all the posts on this subject so if I missed something I appologize. I have been on the SG several times. I dive the Northeast on a regular basis 1000+...(in the ocean not DS). I agree the boat and the shop are just a way to get you to a wreck. What happens underwater is...

The Christening in the Atlantic (Long)

Great story congats on going ahead with the dive. I have always gone with the Bonine. 1 before bed and the other when I get up to go to on the dive. I would recomend going with a 30 cf pony and attach to the 120. Swing bottles are good but get more experience before you do that. You also might...

    SSI vs PADI vs NAUI

I am a dive master working in the south Jersey area. I have PADI and Naui ratings for different things. What I like about NAUI is the instructor can gear the course material towards his students where PADI is by the book. I think the most important thing is finding a good instructor first and...

    Tank recommendation for Atlantic dives?

Forget about 112, 119, 121. I am a divemaster that dives off of NJ and have been doing it for years. I would definatly go with a HP steel tank over an aluminum or LP tank. Safer design. 2nd. If you are over 5'10 and are sure you are only going to buy 2 tanks I would by a 120cft Will give you...

Drysuit diving without enough weight. Dangerous !!

The first thing you should start doing is burping the suit. Right before you get into your equipment make sure you get squeeze as much air out of the suit as possible. Second leave the dump valve all the way open. When you learn how to use the suit you should be able to go under and over things...

    My first dive incident (long)

I also thought you did a great job in helping out your friends. You responded quickly to a situation that could have gotten alot worse. As far as the $1.70 per pound and $113.00 total bill. I think your 2 partners were extremly over weighted. The rescue diver thing. I think is always good to...
