ME, I'd go with my buddy if only for the ride, It would be like flying across the moonscape and you would be sure to see something that no other diver ever has. and knowing that the lift bag hit the surface right around the dive site would relieve and misgivings about being lost at sea. (ever...
good question that deserves a good answer. Were I dive it is very important that should this happen you need to shoot a lift bag right away. the current will seperate you from the boat fast. and if you have any safety stop or deco stop that means you'll be even farther from the boat when you...
most home improvement stores sell it by the bag, and if your home has any mortar, concreate or any other portland product then you've got coral sand in it :)
While I was soloing sun march 13. I thought of some other reasons that soloing is the way to go. there is just something so piecefull about being by yourself that it's hard to explain to divers that have never done it. first off my plan was to go out and turn at a certain point, well when I got...
Split from long hose thread as completely off topic - simbrooks
Not to take this off topic, but just to inform the world of the dreaded parrot fish. it seems this fish chews coral, yup that fish is responcible for damaging millions of trillions of pounds of coral. where do you think beach...
I think that a properly weighted diver is much more likely to have better buoyancy no matter what bcd he/she is wearing. proper weight means less gas in the bcd no matter what design. I could never judge a diver just because of the bcd, that's just odd to me because I learned to dive without a...
I've seen gear heads complain about gear when in reality it was there skills that needed work.when I hear people advising other divers against jackets I wonder if these divers had enough practice in a jacket before they took someones advice and bought a bp/w setup.
another good one is the...
The dead frog was diving without a buddy, LOL and I noticed something I've never seen before. the RV has wood paneling and the sun light made it down to 90 feet. that will change when the place opens and the real rototilling begins
I watched two gents yesterday, both in Zeagal jackets and steel singles and they were totally squared away. had no probs with any skill. didn't rototill , didn't keep flailing the arms, just squared away divers having fun and then I saw two split finners leaving a wake of mushroom clouds behind...
a single 130 doesn't have the redundancy that "I " require for deep diving. OUT OF THOUSANDS of divers I've met, only 4 dove with 130s , from were I'm sittin it looks like "rock" would or should be the smallest tank out of the two divers.
no MF I'm talking about an event that happens after an ascent starts.say your coming up and after your first deep stop, your buddy flakes and does the crash and burn. are you telling me that RESERVE stays in the tank untill your feet dry on the boat?
I pay good money for dive boats , I'm not coming back after 10 min of bt on a 100 foot dive. what if you got hosed by a hoover? this is just plain wrong. I'm bringing a pony with the gas to bring up a str@&*, no wonder those 130s are selling like hot cakes. I call em anchors.
ok, this has sparked my interest! Now let me see if I have this right. rock bottom is the reserve gas to bring both divers up from max depth? Now can you use "some of this gas for your own ascent"? and what happens if your buddy gets negative and has an "event" after the beginning of the...
