If you are on a guided tour thats pretty common. There might have been a few other divers in the 500 psi range that needed to start their assent soon. Its hard in large groups when all the divers consume air differently. Hope you had fun at least :)
I personally think Ikelite makes the best housings.. Start with ambient photography for a while before thinking about flash photography. Best tip I can give you is practice, practice, practice and make sure you have mastered your buoyancy first.. Good luck..
Dont let them all get on your case. There is nothing wrong with you using rental gear until you buy your own. Its actually good for you to try different types of regulators to see which one you like best before making a big investment. I am sure we all started out at one time or another on...
Depends on the type of drysuit (trilam, neoprene) as well as the type of tanks you are diving with. I use no extra weight at all in fresh and maybe 4 pounds in salt. This is with think undergarments in a Trilam suit as well as doubles. I am not a big fan of planning to carry ditchable weight.
Good idea, I will go along with that.. Its a good start. It seems that if we are taking the thread into the Jersey diving equation there will be different variables all together. :D
Since we are on the subject of Pony bottles I would say you will probably end up going to doubles eventually so you might want to look into them as an option now. In NJ you dont have a choice so doubles are in my opinion the best option unless for some reason you cant physically handle them...
I would have to guess between 44-47 degrees. I would be suprised if we hit 50 degrees in a week or so. It was 41 degrees last week. If i make it out tonight I will report back an updated temp.
We are heading back out tomorrow night.. Had a nice time last week. Call Capt Henrik if you plan on coming along. Boat is departing at 6:30
