oh, & I also removed the diesel engine off this too so I could run it from single phase - 4hp motor off the cooker circuit.
I only pump to 275bar (4000psi) but works perfectly.
From experience they dont.
If the compressor was 'warm' I could start it & be usable though would sometimes stop over 200 bar- but dead cold - not a hope.
I struggled with my MCH6 on a extension 32amp cable until I used the cooker circuit.
So buy not having a bank the OP must stop / start his compressor (& run it also at times that are more inconvienant than others)... This seems dumb to me.
Because you use the bank to avoid stop starting.... If you had enough capacity in the bank you may even get away without running the...
This is the easiest option to manage but requires having at least multiples of 2 cylinders to fill - what do you do if you need to fill 1 cylinder ?
Your whole setup is crying out for a bank.
All of the previous comments are great.
I have the same model compressor (now running on a 4hp electric motor). If it was mine i would:
Open the whip / charging hose & run it with NO CYLINDER ATTACHED for 10 - 15 minutes. Don't worry about the filters or high pressure yet - you just want to...
If you download the PDF from Undersea, Undersea Ltd - Serving the diving industry since 1970 that will help you with some of your questions & their gear is pretty good.
Another site to look at is MDE these valves I use.. Midland Diving Equipment Ltd
I also use a camelback hydryation bladder. The trick is to squeeze BEFORE inserting into your mouth, & use it as a one dive liquid. The bite valves do let stuff in so don't forget to CLOSE the tap before removing from your mouth.

If you don't wear a seatbelt, you 'will not' die - unless you have a major accident
If you take a O2 cylinder to 100ft & start breathing off it then if you make it out I'd suggest getting a lottery ticket.
Isn't the real issue with the Cave diver - not that he didn't analyse & mark his cylinders - just that he ignored what he'd put on the cylinder.
You can't stop this from happening. The cylinder was correctly labled - the person just choose to ignore the markings.
I check every cylinder for CO...
This seems, at least to me, as quite aggressive to Tobin. - IF its not fair enough,
There are divers/dive operators that can do this job with just a toothpick - & then there are others that couldn't with using any amount of tools.
I'd put Tobin in the former (having never met him) as you only...
To the OP.
I carry AP's tear aid in my save a dive kit. - A.P.Diving Direct
It is exactly what you require (assuming you don't have an RF welder "!") & is easy to use.
I have repaired a couple of inner wings using this kit 4 years ago - still going strong. I found that cutting the material...
I got circled by a Oceanic White Tip (10ft) for 3-4 minutes in the Red Sea whilst on a safety stop - it felt like a very long time.
No way in hell was I going up to the surface - this was just after he had 'bumped' the dive boat ladder...
I wouldn't want to be on the surface with 'any' apex...
I use the type for paint spayers - working on the basis its unlikely to harm my Haskell.
AirDrier - Graco Desiccant Air Drying System
This plumbed in just before my haskell with a standard water trap also at the compressor end... - I use a 15cfm 150psi compressor - I got it at half price...
How it will work is that you will buy a reasonable sized compressor (circca 10 - 15cfm) & then spend the next year of so cursing it...
Basically, get the largest you can afford - it will almost always never be big enough...lol
Personally, I believe that CO poisoning is a lot more common than people realise.
In this age of operators cutting margins to the bone, whats the difference between putting an extra hour on the filters so as to change them less frequently, servicing is also more likely to be extended so as to...
