Can I ask when it was you dived Calibao? I'm in Panglao now. May skip Calibao. Going to give Anda a go. Will report back Have just booked in with Gunter at ddivers. He seems like a good guy for Coron. Did you dive for Threshers pre Covid? They have moved from Monad Shoal to Kimud Shoal...

Trip Report Malapascua: Evolution & Sea Explorers

You'll be fine there. I think they just messed up a bit because of the busy Easter week. Just be very clear with them what you want from your dives

Moalboal and Malapascua, make reservations with divecenters or just walk in?

I used the atm near to JPH Resort no problem. But common to pay by transfer e.g. wise or revolut. Ask your dive centre before you travel... paying cash means carrying a lot of money! Evolution you could get private guide. Cant remember price but was told it was affordable. Not sure about others.

Trip Report Camiguin Island: Diving with Camiguin Souldivers

Yes you can get a car and driver. Very easy to arrange. I think I spotted a ca rental place in Mambajao if you prefer to drive yourself.

    Where to stay in Coron?

Useful info! I'm thinking of diving with Gunter, but wondering if may be better with Pirate. Would you recommend one over the other? Many thanks

Moalboal and Malapascua, make reservations with divecenters or just walk in?

I think Centrals has covered it. I’ll add that you need to book your dive centre in advance if it’s Easter or Christmas i.e. when it’s really busy. Particularly if you are diving with Evolution, which you absolutely should because they’re awesome. Note that Evolution (and others) generally give...

Trip Report Camiguin Island: Diving with Camiguin Souldivers

April 2024: So…. We visiting Camiguin Island to meet two non-diving friends for a holiday. Wow, what a beautiful island. It’s less visited than many other Philippines destinations but is a bit of a hidden gem. The downside is the diving isn’t as good as other locations, but there is still some...

Roast my itinerary (suggestions please :)

Dived with Souldivers. Four dives only as have to move on. If i had some time i probably would have done two more only. I’ll leave a TR in another thread. Your doing your DM in Sabang, PG? There appears to be quite a range of quality in the dive centres there. We’re heading back there next...

Roast my itinerary (suggestions please :)

Very helpful indeed. Thanks! I’m on the fence with Cabilao. We’ve been told not to bother, and also that it’s worth it. Same with Anda. We may well just go and check them out to decide for ourselves unless we significantly extend our stay in Panglao. We will wait and see :) And interesting...

Trip Report Malapascua: Evolution & Sea Explorers

You’re welcome! Average water temps for our dives were between 26 and 28 deg C (sorry if you are in Farenheight). We also did Kalanggaman Island and Gato Island day trips. These were good, but i wouldn’t have visited Malapascua if this was the only diving. It’s the sharks that make it, but it’s...

Trip Report Malapascua: Evolution & Sea Explorers

ACCOMMODATION: Evolution Resort is good quality accommodation and very comfortable. Their Craic House [bar and restaurant] is very good also. We booked a deluxe room (P5,500 per night) as the standard rooms were all booked out. I would really recommend staying here unless you need somewhere...

Trip Report Malapascua: Evolution & Sea Explorers

Some positives with Sea Explorer are that you get your own place for storing and hanging your diving equipment. And our request to set up own equipment was met :) I’m sure in their less-busy times the service would be better, but as it was we were not impressed. If you prefer a more lively scene...

Trip Report Malapascua: Evolution & Sea Explorers

We booked with Sea Exporers for 3 days diving due to Evolution being fully booked. We had to pay full price in advance. Sea Explorers is a busy dive centre with bars, restaurants and accommodation nearby. It’s in the middle of the ‘busy beach’, meaning there is plenty of choice of foid etc...
