    Diving in Indonesia

Well, to clarify the first post, I was told that there is no PADI center in Maluku and access to Maluku is now forbidden because of the religious conflict in the region. Regarding, Irian jaya, apparently the Cenderawasi Bay, Numfoor, and Biak have all be damaged by dynamite fishing. It seems...

Address of dive shop in Koh Tao

James I could not agree more with you but see Koh Tao seemed a good option to get certified and move on (by the way I already dived in Perenthian islands). I also never planned to dive with the big shops. However, I'd very much like to discuss the indonesian option in more details as I am...

    Advice on diving gear

I need to buy a complete diving gear soon and need advice on which BCD, Reg/octopus, 3mm wet suit, and computer to buy. I intend to invest in some long-lasting and good equipment but reasonably priced. Is there a good store on the web you recommend? Thanks. Nicolas

Better off buying equipment in Thailand??

Am I better off buying my entire diving gear at a dive shop in Thailand (like in Koh Tao) than in the US? Is the price difference of diving equipment usually significant between the US and Thailand? Thanks for your suggestions or advice. Nicolas

    Diving in Indonesia

Well, I initially intended to get the DM certification in Indonesia, and Bali in particular, but it seems like I too will be going to Thailand. I have read too many conflicting reports about diving in Bali. However, I have found better DM course deals in Indonesia (bali) on the web. let me...

    Diving in Indonesia

I am planning to go diving and getting my DiveMater certification in Indonesia this summer. Although there seems to be plenty of diving in Bali, Lombok, and Sulawesi, I was told that there is no longer any diving in Maumere, Riung, Sumbawa, Solor and Alor (places I was very interested to go...

    Koh Phiphi Dive Shop?

I stayed 1 month at Viking Divers and highly recommend them. Their equipment is top notch and the dive masters were the coolest of the island. Moreover, it is not a factory-like diving shop. Ask for Nigel or Mici and have fun.
