I love my Diva LX cos it accounts for boobs, and waist and lumbar support can be adjusted for almost a customised fit.

DIY Dive log books - any ideas?

Hi folks, any ideas on how to make your own dive logs - any good layouts that you use / print out at home, whatever? Any web links? If you've got a Word/Excel example that would be great - please email it to: zonnegloren @ yahoo . com (without the spaces obviously) with the title "DIY...

"girls" and "men" why not "women" and "men" or "girls" and "boys" ???

    Macho Men

erm, I often carry a snorkel with me, especially if I'm doing boat dives with a group. I get really badly seasick, and am pretty effficient kitting up, buddy checking and getting in the darn water asap, that I often end up waiting 5-10 minutes for the others in a group to get in. am I going to...

    need advice after surgery

tom - go to your local pool. try and sink down to the deep end (about 3m). just a test. you 'll need to equalise at that depth. hold your nose/nostrils closed and pop your ears. if it hurts anywhere, ascend slowly and wait a few more weeks before trying again. you should be fine - my...

    Menstruation Safety

roflmao! hmmm - bet you dont dare say that in front of her though! ;) never heard of the 2nd day rule. surely it depends on the woman? my 2nd day is far lighter than my first day. I also found that if I dived for a few days before I was due I was often a day or two late. TMI warning here...

    Tops?

    Macho Men

I mostly dive with my husband (or did - pre-pregnancy). When not with my husband I got chosen by other divers because of my air consumption. I would often dive with blokes with twin tanks and me on single because we matched consumption. Male divers are less attentive buddies than female...

Are dive computers required equipment now?

A lot of places in Malaysia, Thailand & Indonesia require computers as mandatory but do not have them for rent.

    Wetsuit sizing?

Gidds - what I meant was my torso was a "petite" - in that when I go to shops I need to buy a size 2 (US) shirt deliberately designed for women that are short. Sorry if this confused - I was only trying to help.

    Shallow diving and pregnancy

congrats to you as well DrSteve! :D Walls - hah!? If I can get my darling hubby to stop fiddling with his kit (no innuendos intended) then I might persuade him to redecorate. Problem is, the "study" is going to become the baby room..... so a 6 year old den is going to need some serious...

    a little freaked out

I prefer scuba over snorkelling. I like being able to breathe underwater ;) Snorkelling can be quite scary when you encounter the unknown because you know you only have that lungful. I'd been snorkelling quite a lot, and on my first scuba lessons the instructor had to remind to breathe...

    Wetsuit sizing?

Gidds - if you lose enough weight to change your body shape, then yes your wet suit might be too big for you. BUt I wouldnt count on losing weight when you buy your suit, but what is comfortable now. Are there any online stores with a return policy? I'd email a few stores with your...

    Resolving Differences with Dive Buddy/BF

:D I've lost count of the number of dive-buddy couples that have come to blows (sometimes literally) over dive styles. Often (but not always) the woman is the more attentive diver and always keeps an eye on her beloved. Her beloved on the other hand is often out doing his own "thang" and is...

    Shallow diving and pregnancy

yep - hubby is looking forward to that as well.:D hmmm - I'm on week 18 and still waiting for that "glow" trimester :( but I think I'm just one of the unlucky ones... ho-hum. would rather be pregnant than not ;)

    Shallow diving and pregnancy

DrSteve - no ****!?! first trimester is she? she'll feel knackered until around week 12-14, and nauseous as well. 's what happened to me - as it turned out - I could NOT face getting on a boat or in the water then.

    Shallow diving and pregnancy

Gidds - sure - actually swimming is great - I have always been a water baby! :D still.... it's really not the same..... ;) Kim - the big issue (according to the DAN phone helpline) is Nitrogen absorbtion / off-gassing.
