    Covid surging in Bonaire

The only thing actually preventing tourism is the government of Bonaire. If you are requiring tests to visit the island, then all the "if this, then that" regarding local cases is anti-science comforting of the hysterical.

    Covid surging in Bonaire

The other 22% are age/co-morbities and the vast amounts of real world data we have now basically agrees with that view of reality.

    Covid surging in Bonaire

That is still very curious. Covid shouldn't be hospitalizing people who are below 70 and aren't severely overweight. I'm surprised islands didn't have the equivalent of chicken pox parties for under-50 healthy people last year so people would get immune fast. We should have done the same in...

The story behind this rather dangerous photo

https://www.villamakoshi.com/node/58 You see the one immediately when you look at this page. This same image gets used on about 50 other web pages. Does anyone have a story on this truck photo? Bad photoshop or real stupidity caught?

OMS Slipstream Fins (XL) w/ XS Scuba Springs, 90 dollars including shipping to US

These fins are people who think Jet fins are too wussified and desire a fin that can also be used for disciplinary spankings or fraternity hazing. Great for cave, tech, and wrestling Nile crocodiles. Inspector Gadget would be proud of these. Worn on 4 total dives off North Carolina where they...

    CoCo Beach has Arrived!!!

The fake beach has a 1 foot wall blocking it off from the natural beach. It's basically a place for people to lay out in sunshairs.

Creating fish identification guide - require assistance

Fun fact: Ned Deloach spends a few weeks in Bonaire every year. (aka, the reef guide guy) What you are proposing is a metaview. If I were you, I would just create and index of what is seen in those locations and then link those to google image search results. Innaccurate but the user can scan...

Day 1 of Trip 6: Moon Jellies! (and an eating question)

Wasn't my video. It was a saucer shaped jelly with what I call the "four condoms" in the middle. The tendrils and coloration were just off from what I've seen in the Bahamas. Also, saw my first Bonaire slipper lobster on this trip. Gigantic. Surprised the locals haven't poached that big...

    CoCo Beach has Arrived!!!

I was there 2 weeks ago. The beach itself is walled off from the tide to keep the white sand they brought in (to keep it from floating away). It seems to be a nice facility.A local snorkeling in the water around the concrete blocks by the bari reef walk in entrance speared an octopus (with what...

Dive 2 of Trip2: Eagle Ray and Mantis Shrimp Making a Kill

GoPro Housing flooded at the start of the dive of of course.... Seen at Oil Slick Leap South. The eagle ray's tail was so long, it was practically a procession. I meant trip6 (in the title) .... I must have still been stoked from seeing a mantis shrimp actually make a kill up close.

Day 1 of Trip 6: Moon Jellies! (and an eating question)

Haven't seen moon jellies on the island before. Saw several along with all the usual suspects. What's new on the island since last year this time? Any new eats worth checking out? Also, in 6 trips we haven't eaten asian (aside from sushi). There are a ton of hole-in-the-wall asian joints on...

All New Fins are Now Jet Knockoffs

At least regarding flippers, I'm pretty much there. Splits. Gimmicks (seawings, slingshots, etc). Now Jet-Everything. I'll remember this post if free diver styled flippers become the next big thing.

    Bonaire emergency at 65 ft

Dive Incidents are sometimes like Pitbulls. "He was always gentle as a puppy until one day there was an attack". This is one of the things I love about Bonaire. There is no pressure to dive deep and hit a marker. Most of the best things to see are above 80 feet. You can dive shallow, have a...

Alert Diver Bonaire Articles - 2 in one publication

I read the first one. I'm unfamiliar with Petrie's Pillar. Also, I've never stopped at Witch's Hut since it seemed like there was more algae North of Oil Slick through to 1000 steps past 5 years.

All New Fins are Now Jet Knockoffs

/rant SCUBALAB 2015: Dive Fin Review | Scuba Diving There are so many knockoffs now..... (I was obviously joking that _all_ were Jet knockoffs, but there's at least 4 in that review, and more on the market). I mean, Apeks makes a nice knockoff; and cave-tech people have been the trend...

    Anyone stayed at Den Lamen?

I've never had a problem with Andre while I was a BDA customer. He re-invests in the OP. The locks, security, facilities are always improving. Every year I saw that my money was making my next visit better. If you aren't a BDA customer and attempt to use any of their stuff, he may go haywire. I...

    Wear Crocs

Btw, the lady who writes the Bonaire Shore diving made Easy got robbed again! Saw the thieves as they were making their exit from the water. She should now buy a powerball ticket. I plan to keep returning to the island, and wearing my crocs. They aren't flaming purple but nobody wants your crocs.
