Thanks for the update @Darnold9999 . I try to be careful about where I place the divevolk while on the boat, and this reinforces that - I usually keep the neoprene case on the divevolk, and under my seat when on the boat, and I think I will keep the case on while it's in the rinse bin as well...
Thanks for sharing your experience @mattfish - I've been diving in poor vis here in Northeast Taiwan so usually need some lighting, but hopefully when i go where visibility is better I won't need it as much and can get away with just using the red filter. Glad to hear you haven’t had a leak yet...
Thanks RIck - glad to hear it survived at possibly 40 feet! I do have "raise to wake" turned on as Divevolk suggested - do you not use that feature in order to conserve battery life?
Yeah I tried charging it wirelessly through the case but it was way too thick with the filter mount attached...
Thanks @David Haas for all the sound advice and tips! I value your opinion. Will keep it in my notes as a reminder.
I might have been tightening the screws too much, as it was always kind of hard to open after the dives, and I would need to use a shirt or something to get a better grip to...
Good to hear the bubbles didn't affect your case - I did notice a bubble the other day but heard that was normal according to divevolk's FAQ:
https://www.divevolkdiving.com/pages/faq
[After-sales] Is the air bubble in the membrane a quality defect?
The air bubble is generated from the liquid...
wow, only 3 dives, I've had 4 dives on mine so far, glad to hear you didn't have any damage at least, but I'm guessing you're not diving with that case again - did you contact divevolk about a possible replacement?
Thanks @Rick Brant , glad to hear the phone survived, how deep were you? Did you safely abandon the dive at that point, or did you continue the dive before resurfacing? I'll make sure to definitely bring the slide insert - i just keep it in there all the time now.
Separate question - have...
Sorry meant to reply to your post earlier but forgot to hit the post reply button! Thanks @DirtFish , stories like that make me feel a lot better about putting my phone in the case! And awesome to hear you’ve used it on over 500 dives with no leaks so far. I used it for the second time last...
Thanks @rmorgan - I'm usually pretty careful also with my gear and certainly hope nothing happens, was just curious if anyone had a leak and if the phone was damaged or fine. I love mandarin fish - saw some last on a Mabul island house reef when I went diving in Sipidan. Hope you got some good...
Hi All,
Thanks to the comments here on scubaboard, I recently bought a Divevolk Seatouch 4 Max and used it with my older iphone 11 pro max underwater. It performed well, and I am now considering using my newer iphone 14 pro max in it for even better quality. I know the saying that eventually...
Thanks again Joe, the videos are helpful, will try some of the tips this weekend. My dives here are all salt water. I spoke to owner of the store I bought the Halcyon from and he said he doesn't even use any weight at all with his Halcyon, and is also using the aluminum plate. I definitely...
I went on a couple of shore dives with the new Eclipse, and it felt fine doing the short hike down and back up to and from the entry point, but at one point on the second dive, i felt the top of the tank on the back of my head... I thought I had made the crotch strap tight enough but apparently...
Thanks! I picked it up tonight and they adjusted for me, but I'm still having doubts about how tight the shoulder straps should be...they state that I should be able to touch the top of the backplate when I reach back with my hand, and if too low it the lower edge of the backplate would rub my...
It seemed to be pretty dry.
I think the previous chart I sent was created by the dive shop owner, and he later updated with more accurate specs, so now the Eclipse is supposed to be 3.5kg for Al plate and 5.4kg SS, while the Infinity is 4.9kg for Al, 6.8kg for SS.
Update - after trying the Infinity on Saturday and enjoying the horizontal trim, I've decided to get the Eclipse and will be getting fitted for it at the shop tomorrow. Like @eelnoraa said, keep it simple - I didn't think the cinch of the infinity was needed once I get it to fit right, and...
Yeah, they only had the Traveler Pro in stock so had a closeout price, but they thought they could still order the Eclipse or Infinity but were told they couldn't get them anymore. Will try 3 kilos thanks.
Thanks for the link too, some cool videos!
I'm surprised the Halcyon weighs close to 9...
