1750php doesn't really sound ridiculous; sounds reasonable. Any cheaper and the operator probably has to cut corners where the quality and safety of the dive may be compromised.
Evolution has my vote in Malapascua. Matt Reed always runs a tight dive operation. Or at least he did while he was...
Ok, thanks!

Have a co-worker whose Defiant wing started fraying around the opening for its inflator hose. Did not affect its performance but it didn't look too pretty. That was a while ago though (2011), so maybe Defiant has...
Hi Matt!
Thinking about using johnnyair to buy bike parts. How much extra do they usually charge? No diving right now here in Dumaguete thanks to "Queenie", weather ok in Malapascua?

Have you checked Aquamundo's BP/W out? A...
Hi Dr.Bill and the rest of you Scubaboarders!
Traveler's checks are difficult to cash here in the Philippines so most establishments won't accept them. Atlantis will accept all major credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, VISA). In Dumaguete, reliable 24hour access to ATM's is a 20min...
We had Doug Toth over here some time back with a (then) new pair of paddle fins he said he was field testing. They're probably out in the market by now but I still haven't seen them being used by our recent guests. They had really tall side rails which made them stand out from other fins. Anyone...
Sure! Just mention it to Andy Pope! If he says I go to Puerto Galera to dive with you guys then that's what I'm doing! :D We can do our critter presentations at the 50 Bar!
Hello Hintermann,
Here's a direct e-mail to one of our customer reps here in Atlantis Dumaguete: reservations.maribel@atlantishotel.com
Maribel will answer any questions you might have about the resort; she'll also handle your booking if you do decide to stay and dive with us. If you have any...
Thanks Lynne!
You and Peter can come dive with us anytime! We'll try to have some new critter presentations when you guys come back. And have them more often. And hopefully I'll get assigned to your group next time.:D

I checked out their website because the "fish hatchery" sounded intriguing. Anybody else a bit worried that they're actually harvesting larvae from the wild for grow-out? Some organisms may be dependent on zooplankton for sustenance; depleting that resource may have a negative effect on those...
Hello Bottlenosedolphin! Sorry it took me a while to reply. Water temp in Dumaguete during April is usually in the 27-28 degrees Celsius range. Can't say for Anilao, but Puerto Gallera, which is just right across from it, is usually a tad colder than Dumaguete. Who are you diving with in...
Hi rickeyf413!
rob1967 got it right; first photo is of a sea spider (pycnogonid). Books say it is not a crustacean; it's classified as a chelicerate. Like spiders are not insects, they're arachnids. The fact that they have no antennae excludes them from being members of subphylum Crustacea...
DeputyDan has given away all our dark secrets already!
Other points to ponder:
- The intertidal zone in Puerto Gallera (PG) is quite extensive. Low-low tides are in the afternoon in June, so make sure you have comfy footwear to walk in if you're planning to do late afternoon & night dives. Not...
Mix of reef and pelagics? The Atlantis Azores does 10-day charters to Malapascua where they get regular sightings of threshers, and sometimes, mantas. Here's the link: Scuba Diving in the Philippines, The Best Dive Resort - Atlantis Dive Resorts & Liveaboards
Hi bekman,
I have an Aquamundo Q-Tec II. Good price and after 200+ rec dives with it, no problems so far. The only issue I had was that the wing did not have slots for the tank band if you run your bands thru the plate. Fixed that with a hot knife.

Sorry, but I kinda have my mind set on a Scubapro GO. Thanks anyway Hybrid4AGE! You looking to get rid of your BCD's? I'll ask around, maybe some of my buddies might be interested...
Thanks Oren! I remember diving with you while you were at Atlantis. That baby lionfish sure looks familiar! I think you're the tallest person I ever dove with.
Those whaleshark photos look a bit out of place in amongst those macro critters, ey. :D
