WTS: Mares DIN regs for doubles/sidemount/bailout

Selling for a friend. Mares MR42T DIN first stages, one regular Abyss second, the other Abyss second is the Navy version (no idea what the difference is). Miflex hoses and an SPG. He wants $425 including PayPal and shipping. It sounds reasonable to me, but I will pass along any reasonable...

Choice of Tray - Stainless or Delrin?

Opinions? There seem to be many options for trays in both Delrin or stainless.

    Inline valves for bailout

I did some searching through this forum and couldn't find an answer to a stupid question. What would be the disadvantages of using inline valves on sidemount tanks? For me, it is really about bailout bottles that I sidemount. But it always gets interesting when I have to decide what gas to put...

FS: 3 Halcyon HID Light Heads with E/O cords

Posting for a buddy of mine. He has 3 Halcyon HID light heads with E/O cords. One is a 10-watt and the other two are 18-watt. They all work and are in good shape. Light heads only; no canisters for sale. He will consider any reasonable offers.

    Looking for heavy backplate

I'm looking for a heavy steel backplate. Most of the stainless backplates are 4-5 pounds. I remember someone making heavier ones years ago, but can't remember the source. I know that ISC has one on their web site that is 1/4 inch thick and weighs 11 pounds. That would be perfect, but I was...

Source for bonnet nut teflon packing

I have a bunch of valves to service and my shop will no longer sell me just teflon packing/washers. Whole service kits are crazy expensive, and I have tons of seats, stems, o-rings, springs, etc. But the teflon washers are harder to come by. As far as I can tell, there are basically 4...

Sell or Trade - Omniswivel Gas Switch Block

I have a brand new, never used but old stock Omniswivel gas switch block. Part number GSB-R Page Title It is the right hand (most common) configuration. The only difference is that this was from a limited run that Omniswivel did for Deep Outdoors, so it has the Deep Outdoors logo on it. You can...

    Ice Diving course

Anyone interested? I'm trying to put something together a little further south than Lake George if I can. Or if anyone knows about one, let me in on the details. I've wanted to do it for years and I'm not getting any younger.

Wanted: Charging attachment for Liquivision X1

Anybody have a charging attachment they no longer need? With all the defunct X1s and X-Links that people post about, there have to be some charging attachments available. Ken

First time NorCal diver needs recommendation and buddy

I will be on vacation with my wife for several days including a couple of weekdays planned for Carmel/Monterey. I figure that's probably my best chance to get in the one day of diving that she has graciously granted. So maybe I will finally get to see what kelp diving is all about and maybe...

    Looking for tech training buddy

I'm planning to do advanced nitrox, deco procedures and entry trimix in 5-6 days in Florida sometime in March. It would be more fun (and less expensive) to do it with another person. If anyone out there is interested or knows someone who might be, please PM me. Cave certification is NOT...

    Looking to buy TDI books

I'm looking to pick up some TDI books to advance my knowledge. I'm not sure if I'll ever take the courses, but I'm damn well going to try. I would love to find copies of the TDI manuals for advanced nitrox, deco procedures, and the one that compbines extended range and entry trimix. They...

Need partner for training in FL March 2007

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this. I'm an intro cave diver looking to do a full cave course and some tech training in March. But the instructor needs at least 2 students and the 4 buddies who were interested have all dropped out. The plan is to do apprentice and full cave...

    Anyone in Mexico 5/2-5/6 ??

OK, call me cheap. I'm going down to Puerto Aventuras with a bunch of guys, but I'm the only one who is cave certified. We'll do a couple of cenote dives, but I also wanted to do a cave dive. The problem is that I'm by myself. If I go with a guide, it's at least $150 for one dive. So I figure it...

    Underwater Signaling for Diver Recall

No, this isn't a rehashing of the sub-duck vs the mini-hammerhead. We need a diver recall device from the surface without spending a fortune. I'm a volunteer diver at our state aquarium. Right now, our recall device is that the standby diver above bangs on the metal ladder with a lead weight...

    High Pressure Nitrox

Interesting question. According to one site http://www.diverdiscount.com/scubatanks.html high pressure steel tanks are NOT recommended for nitrox diving. I guess they figure the higher pressure when doing partial pressure fills of O2 poses a greater risk of fire/explosion. I've never heard...

    Seal Saver

Just curious what opinions are about Seal Saver. My LDS owner swears by it and says he's had the same latex seals on his drysuit for over 8 years because he uses seal saver after every dive. Also, does anyone know what's in it? There's probably a way to make it for about one-tenth of the cost.
