    Juve!

Soccer has to be one of the most frustrating game to watch. I now understand how spectactors get killed at sporting event. Jarhead

    Juve!

my son started playing. But we watched Lazio vs Porto last night. That was an ugly game. 8 yellow cards, 2 red cards and final score of 0-0. We watched Man. United vs Blackbury the night before. Did anyone get to watched the Celtic game last night? No score until the 80th minute. Wow! Jarhead

Point-for-point on what's missing from OW Classes

This is the manual we used: Jeppesen's Advanced Sport Diver Manual NASE has since published their own manual (last fall) and it is not as extensive as this one. This one is an easy read and available from Amazon as you can see. Jarhead

Point-for-point on what's missing from OW Classes

AOW in most agencies are made of "Meat and Potatoes". My NASE AOW, as an example, required: Six class sessions three pool dives and five open water dives Subjects included: gas management planning dives with a map and compass simple decompression dive tables (US Navy tables) deep...

    Standards deficiencies

They don't get a c-card and have to repeat the class until they can show skill and academic profiency (spelling) or they give up. When an instructor issues a c-card, he/she is stating that the person named on that card has met the minimum academic and skill profiency standards for the agency...

Point-for-point on what's missing from OW Classes

And there are agencies/instructors that go "above and beyond", but by raising the minimum for the entire dive industry, new diver quality as a whole should improve. Jarhead

    Standards deficiencies

it was so obviously correct, that I didn't realize it needed a second. I'll also agree with: valve manipulation (Whew! that's a big word for Monday morning) not "touched in (my) BOW gas management covered extensively in AOW, but only touched in BOW I'm a bit at a disadvantage when...

Point-for-point on what's missing from OW Classes

Padi, NAUI, SSI, NASE, ect. are NOT the top of the food chain. Take it up another notch to the Recreational Scuba Training Council(RSTC). These are the people who created (and can change) the minimum standards. These standards apply to all (US) agencies. Jarhead

    PADI Inadequacies

...that I can't agree with this statement. In 6 months: a vacation diver "probably" won't get much experience. BUT, someone with around divers 8 hours a day , 5 or 6 days a week (new dive operator/shop employee?) diving regularly (once, twice, or even three trips per week) can get...

How many military/ex-military people on the board?

The Marine Corps. didn't trade-in their 105s for 155s until '80 or '81. The older model 155s didn't lend themselves well to amphibious landings. The newer one were lighter and maybe smaller.

How many military/ex-military people on the board?

I think, by the 1980s, the Davy Crocketts had been replaced by the tactical nuclear projectiles for the 155mm howitzers. ' Same "payload" but a longer range. Jarhead PS: Also a "last resort" weapon, as the howitzer was un-useable after one-shot.
