They don't get a c-card and have to repeat the class until they can show skill and academic profiency (spelling) or they give up. When an instructor issues a c-card, he/she is stating that the person named on that card has met the minimum academic and skill profiency standards for the agency...

And there are agencies/instructors that go "above and beyond", but by raising the minimum for the entire dive industry, new diver quality as a whole should improve. Jarhead

Padi, NAUI, SSI, NASE, ect. are NOT the top of the food chain. Take it up another notch to the Recreational Scuba Training Council(RSTC). These are the people who created (and can change) the minimum standards. These standards apply to all (US) agencies. Jarhead

M198 155mm Howitzer

The Marine Corps. didn't trade-in their 105s for 155s until '80 or '81. The older model 155s didn't lend themselves well to amphibious landings. The newer one were lighter and maybe smaller.

I think, by the 1980s, the Davy Crocketts had been replaced by the tactical nuclear projectiles for the 155mm howitzers. ' Same "payload" but a longer range. Jarhead PS: Also a "last resort" weapon, as the howitzer was un-useable after one-shot.
