because most of the divers are posers:), they want to dive with the "ferraris" of diving,, but in reality most of them couldnt tell the difference between one or the other, the legend regulator is a great product, nothing wrong with it.

i would get the legend, it will perform as good as the apex and its a bit cheaper.

very nice computer, and comes with a digital compass and 2 gas switching,although a bit pricey, u can always go with a gekko.

Any aqualung dealer should have plenty of kits available.

Split fins wont take you anywhere against a tough current, also if u ever use them remember to do small and fast kicks.
