During fundies, my instructor had us put a loop of innertube at the base of the d-ring, where it "conects" to the webbing, it helps the dring stand out and makes clipping easier...but you still need to practice and be able to make the clip w/o looking.

BTW, how many gas fills have you gotten from ScubaToys or any of the other online dealers? How many classes have you gone through online? (yes I've heard of the crappy PADI class.)

to add to what JeffG said Always, Always, Always check the regulator that you are going to breathe from for gas before shutting down the one you are breathing from. Also, try to keep the valves relatively high behind your head (easier to reach them) and keep your elbow close to your head...

Right, take the dive gear you bought on ebay to your local dive shop and ask them to look it over...and hope they don't think your a complete *sshole for it.
