Thanks folks, I booked a six day package with Dive BVI on Virgin Gorda before I go sailing. I will definitely hit Chikuzen and the Rhone wrecks. Should be a fun time.
Thanks, I booked a stay at Mango Bay on Virgin Gorda and plan to dive with Dive BVI. I want to try rebreather course and dive the wrecks in the area. Promises great fun!
I plan to do a try rebreather course next month in the BVI. What would be the next step to get into rebreathers? Are they worth the added cost to buy and maintain?
I'm planning a winter vacation next month in December to BVI for diving and sailing. Looking for good recommendations on places to stay and dive operators to scuba with in the British Virgin Islands.
Thanks I am finally starting to feel better after 4 months of recovery. Its weird, nothing was broken but bruised ribs take FOREVER to heal must be getting up there in age past 40 its downhill LOL. Anyways, I do need to get back into the water and this time boat dive in my drysuit. I've been...
I have spring straps what happened was that I had a rough time getting the fins on due to my gloves not being dextrous enough in the entry area.
Add to that a poor instructor and bad dive buddy who rushed into the dive site way ahead of me and I was by myself to get in.
I do have spring straps on my fins. What happened was that I had difficulty putting them on due to the surf conditions and my wetsuit gloves were not cooperating. If I had inflated my BCD more, kept walking deeper water and lied back on my back then tried it would have prevented the accident. Or...
Always keep the reg in mouth and breathe and try to stay calm in tough situations. You can practice so that it becomes natural. I've had 2 things happen to me and fortunately kept the reg in my mouth which saved my life.
@Hatul- fortunately, yes, I did have my reg and mask on. Otherwise, I could have drowned. I made it half way back crawling then my muscles gave out and then I signalled emergency to shore at which point the big guys rescued me. Root cause that led to this:

I had difficulty putting the fins...
I could not move as my muscles spasm and gave out. I felt like a cripple. Fortunately I was only 10 feet from shore and 4 big men came to my rescue and carried me to safety. I have dove Breakwater before but never stumbled like this. I had trouble getting my fins on with the new gloves which...
So today I set out to do a shore dive in Monterey and I had a challenge getting my fins on past the surf layer. I fell on my butt and could not get back up after bruising my ribs. It was embarassing as folks from shore had to carry me back to the parking lot. What can I do in the future to...
I am taking the PADI drysuit class to learn how to dive in my new drysuit. My instructor says to only add air to the suit to avoid suit squeeze and use the BCD for buoyancy control but PADI says the opposite! Who is correct and why?
Hi all,
My new DUI drysuit has a p-valve and I need to pickup the condoms for it at a nearby medical supply store since local dive shops do not sell these for guys with drysuits and p-valve. Any places that sell these things?
Thanks Dr. Bill. What times of the year are best for shark diving in the Bahamas and also in Tahiti?
I am looking at Cat Island with Epic Diving next month. Has anyone dove with them before?
Hi all,
I am looking for a great first time week long shark diving trip recommendations in the Bahamas! Want a place that caters to underwater photographers like myself looking to build skills and have fun safely of course! I have always to dive with sharks but do not want to become their next...
