How Is A Steel Tank Made?

Aluminum tank manufacturing is pretty interesting as well. Because it is mailable they punch a billet of al. causing it to turn inside out forming the cylinder.

    SPG with 36" hose

I want to purchase a 2" or 2.5" SPG with a 36" hose. Not terribly picky on brand as long as it is a major dealer and not a generic knockoff. White or black face. PM preferred method of communication. Thank you.

Questions about becoming a scuba instructor

You "get" to go to college. You have the opportunity to do so. Many have worked themselves sick for years trying to get through college. Many have literally fought for the opportunity. Assuming your parents/grandparents are supporting your college endeavor, bless them by having a proper attitude...

    SPG Routing Question

I want to get away from a console type SPG setup and streamline my equipment. What is a efficient routing and placement of a SPG? I am open to DIR methodology (or any suggestions for that matter), GUE-F is in my future training plans. FYI I dive a Zeagle Express Tech BC.

Why does every new diver want to be an instructor?

My biggest critique of my college professors is that the majority are not experts in their field. This is a major stumbling block to their students, learning is hard enough when you have a good teacher, an incompetent one is drain on themselves and their students.

Why does every new diver want to be an instructor?

Instructors, at what point did you decided that you wanted to be an instructor? Perhaps the popular culture saying "those who can't do teach" has some relativity in this instance. I am content with continuing just being a diver and trying to be a better one at that, however I do recall a...

    I got a new job

I enjoyed reading your post. Aside from the computer genius part I can identify with some of your educational experience. Sometimes it is more difficult to know what one should do than it is to do it. Does your new job involve diving?

Taking GPS coordinates of a site... captain's permission?

I am not. Neither were they kidding. It was announced to the boat as we left the dock in a professional manner. I don't believe anyone felt threatened.

Taking GPS coordinates of a site... captain's permission?

Last two charter boats I was on in the gulf informed us that any gps devices found in use would be tossed overboard and you would spend the rest of the trip in their 4'x4' jail cell.

Any experience with ordering from Chronograph-Divers.com?

I'm shopping around for a Seiko SKA371P2 and the website chronograph-divers.com has really great pricing on them. Does anyone have any experience ordering from them? Any other favorite watch suppliers? Thanks, Travis

Tell Dive Store Owners How You Feel

The local dive shop here is severely lacking in the customer service area. I got my OW there and the instructor was a good pleasant man but that was the only positive experience I have had there. The shop manager makes you feel stupid for asking questions and like you're wasting his time even...

    Inconsistent message to new divers

It is human nature to become arrogant once you have more knowledge than the dumbest dummy in the class. Pride seeks to promote ones self, it does not seek to build up others. In short, we all need to get over ourselves every day and remember that "knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth."...

Advice on Buying Used SCUBA Gear?

Check it over well yourself or if you trust a friend have them come look at it with you and DON'T get too excited about buying your own gear you settle for sub-standard life support items. I am slowly building up my gear, mostly used. The first used BCD i purchased looked awesome, no signs of...
