Diving Quarrys in Ohio. What Wetsuit?

The stairs at Gilboa drop about 25 ft from the parking lot to the water. They are notoriously slippery when they are wet. They are quite old, but some have been replaced and some have grit strips on them that have helped a lot.

    Andrea Doria Discussion

Oh right. Sometimes one has to actually dig for an artifact decreasing vis to nothing. Also, the Doria is a privately owned shipwreck in international waters and is not subject to bottomland laws such as the ASA.

    Andrea Doria Discussion

Easy, they look for it in dangerous areas of the wreck, then put it into a goodie bag. Then they get out of dodge before decompression sacks their energy and gas.

That's inappropriate for SB! Her mask isn't sealed properly and has water in it. Ruins the poster.

Great Lakes Diving Tour in a week

I don't know, it sounded like someone was goading someone into diving the big lake in the dead of winter. Am I missing something?

Great Lakes Diving Tour in a week

I echo the sentiments here. The big lakes in winter and spring are no joke and have a steep learning curve. Superior's South shore even during a light breeze will make a bad day worse. And despite no algae to speak of in the water, viz kinda sucks in the Deep winter. We've gone out and got...

Wreck or Rock - Round 3!

Aluminum boat. If it was fiberglass the sonar would have a hard time distinguishing it from the bottomland.

Yea that's the people we were going to go with before we got blown off by a week of bad weather. I can contact a friend of mine and see if he is running out there. Anyone diving the Judge Hart will probably take you to the Gunilda.

    2023 "Top 10 Dives & Projects"

Next time you visit Lake Huron check out the W.C. Franz (225), Daniel J Morrell(195-210), Metropole(165), and the Clifton(170). I think the Russia and Celtic out of Presque Isle are making their way out too for select operations (235). The Ohio, Euturia, Merrick, and Choctaw are 300-320. As...

    Ford Bronco sport

The 3500 has gone through two trans and a gear box. The second time was because the mechanic didn't line the teeth up properly and it shredded 400 miles into it. Took a lawsuit to have him pay for it. Other than the water pump she's rusting from the body but the engine is fine. The fan doesn't...

    Ford Bronco sport

Mine have all lasted for over a decade. My 04 3500 is now approaching two decades and 223,000 miles. My 2006 300M went until 2020 with 340,000 miles. 98 Cirrus went 400,000 and was totaled by a drunk in 2016. 2004 Seabring went 290,000 before I sold it to a friend who is still driving it at...

    New wreck coming to Tobermory?

I wonder what the fate of the chi-cheemaun will be once she retires. Any talk of a museum ship on the eastern shore of Lake Huron should be reminded of the fate of the Norisle, Norgoma, and Keewatin.
