    Dacor SPG with Timer

Just in case anybody is looking for this info the battery is a DL1/3N. You can find them at Ace and True Value hardware as well as online. Be sure you check the polarity. In my case this wasn't easy since there are no indications on the gauge electronics. I did however notice the black wire...

Can you clarify difference between Mares Puck and Puck Pro?

Zak, I'm looking at the Puck Pro and Puck. The website is ambiguious as to the firmware upgrade capability. In one section it says the "software" is upgradable. Is this the firmware? Also the area where the little icons that indicate capability it shows the Puck Pro has a mineral face, but...

    Howdy

Just to follow up. I've dived a couple of times now with this Mares regulator and it worked great. Only two dives in Caribbean so so cold data. Very comfortable, no free flow issues. Worked as well or better than the rental equipment I've used so I'm very happy with it. Dives were 60-85'...

    Howdy

I'm a newbie too. I did a lot of looking for used equipment and here's what I've found so far. Regulators on ebay seem to be pretty old and still get 30-50% of new cost usually with no guarantee. Then you add $30-$40 to get it serviced and it doesn't make a lot of sense. Check out the...

New to diving with a couple of questions about the Viper

I've only found it at divers-supply where it's actually marketed as a regulator. The others all seem to market the MV as an octo and not as a regulator. Do you think the MV octo actually the same as the Viper regulator? I guess it could be but it seems the octo's are usually not the same...

New to diving with a couple of questions about the Viper

Zak, Thanks for the reply and info. It's great to have manufacturers represented on this board so we can get the facts we need. Mares valve technology is pretty innovative and it seems your products hold up well. The Viper's side exhaust was what attracted me and I think I'll give it a try...

New to diving with a couple of questions about the Viper

The supplier says Mares "has agreed to re-introduce this popular model". I'm kind of leery and that's why I was hoping to hear some thing from Mares. Here's the link and you can scroll to the bottom to see the dialog about re-instating it. I'd be interested in what you think of this. Thanks...

New to diving with a couple of questions about the Viper

I notice you have one supplier that is selling an MR12 Viper regulator set. Why is it only this dealer and I've read this is actually an old unit made originally by or for Dacor. I like some of the features but I'm puzzled by the marketing approach. Are these really new regulators or old ones...

    First Regulator Purchase.. HELP!

The MR12 Ranger is even cheaper 'till March 19th. Only $114. The MR12 and Ranger appear to be last year's model. Many other suppliers list it as discontinued. But where else can you get a major manufacturer, brand new equipment? I've been looking for entry level equipment for a month or so...
