    Comfo-Byte for Apeks question.

If you consider the environment you're diving in (hint: Fish both poop and pee), I'm not quite clear why you worry about the odd bug that might be on your mouthpiece. If you're really that concerned, a FFM might be a better choice.

    Triton Bay or Halmahera?

You should be so lucky at RA to "only" have 3-4 dive boats on a site. RA (IMHO) is being loved to death

Proof of medical insurance to travel to Curacao?

Before purchasing supplemental insurance, check with your US policy to determine what they consider out-of-network For me, all of international is considered out-of-network. The only caveat is that you must start any treatment through the ED

Question My transmitter (MH8A) just died. This is the second one in 5 years !!

The failure mode was odd. It started off reading about 1800 PSI on a full tank (checked against the SPG) and then the pressure would only change a little (down to maybe 1600 PSI) when the SPG showed 900. I replaced the battery with a new one, and now nothing. I even erased the transmitter and...

Question My transmitter (MH8A) just died. This is the second one in 5 years !!

So am I just unlucky? The first one died after 9 months or so, it's replacement just gave up (maybe 5 years). Should I be looking to kill a black cat at midnight, of some suitable other spell to break my bad luck? Are there any reliability stories about the 'new' SWIFT transmitter (and...

Question Can you help me ID these tanks?

Way cool. I found this chart that puts the tanks at 45 cf. We're within spitting range of each other on capacity. At 2100 psi, that gives me about 110 cf of gas. What could possibly go wrong. . .
