My indepth review of the Hollis NeoTek Semi-Dry

Ok, so I'll be honest, I forgot about this thread a bit but i've gotten in about half a dozen dives in the neo-tek and all I can say is holy crap this thing rocks, water exchange isn't there, it is super warm, holding up great to everything that its been hit on. Guys wearing dry suits were...

The last time I ask a wetsuit diver to zip my drysuit...

I zip up dry suits all the time, and I am one of those idiots that dives wet in the Northeast.

How was the water exchange? Did it flood easily or did you have to burp it?

    Pony Bottle Regulator Setup

I have an AL40 on a stage rigging set up (best way to do it, don't mount it to your main tank), I have a 1st and 2nd with a 1" gauge, similar to my main set up. You want reliability, above all it needs to be there and work perfectly when you need it.

My indepth review of the Hollis NeoTek Semi-Dry

I haven't been in the ocean with it yet, my bathtub doesn't count, The mobility on dry land is comparable to the FJ, maybe a little bit less in forward reach from the spine pad but you can still reach everything. I know that this suit will take more weight from other semi-dry divers I have...

My indepth review of the Hollis NeoTek Semi-Dry

A little background first, I have been diving for about 3 years, all my diving is done up here in the lovely north east where water temperatures can reach a scalding 55*F at depth in August! I have been diving a Neosport 7mm farmer john, it kept me alive but not very warm at all. I wanted to get...

Anyone have trouble with online SCUBA store??

I've bought stuff from my LDS, Ebay, LeisurePro, and Scuba.com, never had any trouble with the gear. All the stuff i've bought online came sealed in the box and was brand new, I recommend people buy online because its so much cheaper. As was said though, don't mention buying stuff online, some...

Speed boat thru the Diver Below buoys today!

Plastic bags like the kind from the super market work very well, I know because on my jet ski i've sucked up one before, nearly fried my motor.

Speed boat thru the Diver Below buoys today!

With summer time approaching here, half of the close to shore dive sites are pointless to dive on, you'll get run over by tourists renting jet skis. Luckily the state police and coast guard in this area are already looking for reasons to stop boaters.

Local Dive Shops and rental gear?

The dive shop I was certified through and regularly rent gear from has top notch gear, it gets replaced every season. I got my own gear just to save costs of renting every time and the fact that I am going diving much more often.

Diver to attempt cross-channel (England-France) scuba dive with scooter.

I'm sure he will have some surface support in case it all goes wrong, but they will need to watch out for the shipping lane traffic. He will also need to be deep enough to not get slammed by a cargo ship crossing by.

Is is possible to breathe from your BCD?

In theory yes, it would work, you inflate it with air from your tank, the same air that you would be breathing, you are just going through a different source to get the air, would be about the same as cutting an air hose and putting it in your mouth to breathe.
