My husband (who is always my buddy) and sometimes others that may dive with us check on each other regularly. In our group I'm best with air (not bragging, just am) so I check on everyone else more often than they probably would think to check on me.
I use FB and I post stuff about diving there and have diver friends that I'm "friends" with as well as diving groups that I'm either "friends" with or have "liked" their page. I generally hate adds but every once in awhile I see something that sparks my interest. I don't buy print and I rarely...
Hey Tom (is it?),
Good for you. How's it going? What branch of the service, how long? I can imagine juggling everything is difficult.
I think the 30s is where it hits you the most. I got out of the military in my early 30s and just before my wedding in 2010 I stopped doing fitness/physique...
Hi! Sorry to hear that. Is there a specific reason why you are going with a semi dry? Just curious. I've tried on multiple lines of dry suits in unisex and they never seem to fit me right. I've also tried on 5 different semi-dry suits (2 made specifically for women) and none of them ever...
Don, any word on cause of death? Anyone else from the area? I know we are currently speculating right now and will likely truly never know. And I'm sure cause of death will likely be something that doesn't really tell us what exactly happened....guess I'm just curious.
Bob, how were those...
My husband and I (and whoever is with us if it isn't just the two of us) do a lot of shore diving. So we discuss heading, how far out we're going before turning around (first person to hit a certain PSI), and approximate max depth. We generally do the same thing even if from a boat.
Thanks for the post! Yes, I had to order small neck and wrist seals. I have very small wrists and my neck is apparantly smaller than average. Thanks again...I get mine this Saturday!
Thanks for that great write-up, Bob.
First off, RIP to this diver. Always sad to hear.
Second, I don't object to your use of the term "Mud Hole" as I didn't think of it in the "crappy viz" sense but in the sense of the way that I call a local brewery down the street my local watering...
We just listened to Rich Synowic (Divers Inc) podcast on his trip to Bonne Terre mine like last weekend. Great report. It's like his 10th time down there and he said it never gets old. He said that the rules, while they can sometimes be a pain, are there to protect the divers and the dive...
Good luck! Let us know how it goes. I ordered my Fusion Fit this weekend. Fits wonderfully and I should have it in 2 weeks. Will be diving it the weekend of the 16/17 as well and the following 3 weekends in a row. Will let you know what I think. I will say this, my husband thinks it looks...
I guess what I was trying to say is they are born and live there and we just go there. Killing the sharks, either way, won't teach the other sharks a lesson. ;)
I'm going in for a fitting this weekend just to be sure that I'm purchasing the large. So I don't have any feedback yet...but I'll be diving it at least 5 times in March so I'll be sure to give feedback at the end of the month. I'm very excited and VERY happy they reduced the price! :)...
I definitely agree. I can only see killing it to possibly retrieve the body/save the life. It'd be like killing a dog to teach other dogs a lesson. Since Jaws is so far-fetched and the majority of GWS attacks that have been researched have shown that the shark probably was mistaking the human...
